Equal volume levels inside one bank?

    Hi.

Searched the forum, but I still cannot achieve the results I was looking for :/ This has to be a very simple thing, but I really need your help.

I have a self-made imnstrument bank in Kontakt5. There are less than ten innstuments (From Retro machines, Grandeur etc.). The only problem I have is the volume level (difference) between different instruments of my bank. How should I set the volume levels the correct way inside my bank? Should I alter the levels of the original instruments and/or save my own with a different name or what? If I try to double click on the number of the instruments in the bank view Kontakt5 refuses as "...instrumens is locked"?! Naturally the main idea is that the levels would be very close to each other while performing live.

There has to be a way to achieve this

    Thank you already :)

Double-click each instrument and then use the regular instrument volume slider to adjust that instrument's volume. Rinse and repeat.

Thanks for the reply EvilDragon :) However, I just don't know how to do it... I've attached a screenshot. Could you please tell me where exactly should I double click? If I try to double click on the Bank instruments numbers 001, 002 etc. I get "This instrument is locked and cannot be edited".

    Sorry, I'm this dumb :/

Yes, you should double-click on the name of the patch.

I'm not sure why you wouldn't be able to edit The Grandeur... it works here:

Hmm... I'm not that stupid after all :D This is really a weird problem... If I do exactly the same, I get the error... Should I contact the NI tech support or what

Hmm... I guess the could be a difference in how you actually start with the Kontakt. Could you show m how to properly start building the new Bank from scratch (empty multi rack). Can't think of anything else. This is because I see you had an instrument there above the bank. You cannot start with just a bank there in the rack? Sorry, just learning here and trying to intuitively manage this :D

Sure you can start with an instrument bank, anywhere in the multi rack.

The only reason why you'd get that error is if The Grandeur wasn't authorized and it loads in demo mode...

BTW another way you could do this is by opening the NKI first on its own, adjusting its output level, then resaving it. But this is a bit convoluted.

Sorry for the delay in reply... The problem is that I only have the Kontakt Player (part of my Komplete 10 deal). Sorry, I asked you a basically really stupid question. I just figured this out :/ So, I need to upgrade or set the levels per original instrument.

    Thanks for the patience :)

Right, I'm doing this in full version of Kontakt, which might be the reason...

There are other reasons one gets this error message:
I get it because I am using Kontakt 5. (Das says elsewhere in this forum 5 has this limitation.)
Perhaps we should not use the name Kontakt, but instead specify: Kontakt Player 5, Kontakt Player 6, Kontakt 4 or 5, Kontakt 6, etc.
This will also come in handy when looking back at these posts from the future, when we are using Kontakt 666...
