Just purchased an MK3, plugged it into my laptop. Registered for Native Access, & put in my Serial #...also purchased an SSD, set my NA Preferences to have my Download Location go to my SSD as well as my Content location (Application Location stayed the same). Somewhere here is where my issue lies I think. Whenever I try to download anything under the "Not Installed" section, It says "Install failed: Error while mounting disk image". Can somebody help with this? This sucks because I cant even use the MK3 and I cant wait..Appreciate it!

*I'm also using a MacBook Pro running Catalina if that helps*

I only know the solution for Windows, but maybe it can help you as well.

Many NI products are provided as ISO images, and Native Access relies on the operating system to mount and access those. However, often you can reconfigure this behavior and tell your OS to use another program to access certain file types. The problem is that if you're doing the same for ISO files then this can cause problems for Native Access.

Example: Windows can mount ISO images but relies on its file manager ("explorer.exe") for this. If you change this link so that you use another program to open ISO images (for example the WinRAR archiver) then you'd always open WinRAR whenever you open an ISO. But as a result Windows is no longer able to mount ISO images and because of that Native Access will also have problems when trying to install something.

So for Windows the solution is to ensure that your OS can mount ISO images. I have no experience with Mac but considering the error message I'm assuming this could be a similar issue.

How is your external SSD formatted? If it is formatted as ExFat (most external SSD drives come pre-formatted ExFat), this might be the issue. You should re-format the drive to suit your OS, in your case Mac Journaled (extended). This format is also required for Kontakt libraries as Kontakt does not play well with ExFat.

It has been reported that ExFat has issues mounting disk images.

Nico, did you find a resolution? I am experiencing the same issue trying to install Session Strings Pro via Native Access. Retried the download fresh several times. Native Access will not install the library, nor will running the .iso manually.

This is a known issue. The solution for Windows is explained here:
    https://support.native-instruments....sage-Error-while-mounting-disk-image-Windows-

You need to edit the registry so be incredibly careful. There are many entries that look almost identical so make sure that you edit only the one where the Default value (if not empty) is DVD/CD-ROM and the Class value is CDROM. The solution is made for "Vista", but still works on Windows 10.

This solution saved my day :)

You don't need to edit the registry, all you have to do is to associate the .ISO file extension with Windows explorer (the file manager). After that things will be back to normal. You can make this association using the file manager:

This is Dutch (duh) but hopefully you get the idea: "Open with..." and then you specifically need to select "other app".

After that make sure to select the Windows filemanager and tell Windows to always use that to open ISO files:

Once again all in Dutch but you get the idea. The icons will be the same and the option is always shown at the bottom.

Once you've done this you'll notice that this comes into effect by selecting an ISO image and checking your filemanager.. it will show a specific header which mentions options for the file type:

Well, after that the installer will also work as normal.

Great! That is a much easier way to solve it! :)
NI should really make efforts to prevent the Native Access software to run in this kind of issues in the first place... :(
