I've been getting more and more into programming Massive lately, i'm even reading the manual to help me understand hitherto unknown functions and appreciating it's power more and more each time I try something new.

However, in trying new things, i'm coming across some of its limitations, namely in regards to modulation.

I've been programming drum patterns using the three oscillators as seperate entities, modulated each with performance modulators, using both possible patterns for each and crossfading between the two.....simple but effective.

However, I would now like program different drum patterns into the same patch but cannot do this as my modulations are already programmed. I realise I can make a copy of the patch and set new modulation patterns for the copy, then switch between the two patches using a program change command but this seems cumbersome, so I am suggesting Massive be given extra modulation banks for each modulator and the ability to swap between patterns on the fly.

Also, I'm not convinced 4 LFO's is enough and would like the option of adding modulators at will. Yes, it could make massive's GUI larger but it's not called "Massive" for nothing.

Further to this, there is also the suggestion of a proper Arpeggiator. I did a search for this before starting a new thread and discovered each thread on the subject closed. Is this due to old age? or is the idea so abhorrent that it cannot be discussed?

And in a similar vein to my modulator pattern suggestion, it would be nice to have the option of triggering more than one arp pattern for any given patch.

Don't get me wrong, it's a complex enough synth as it stands but when each oscillator is treated seperately, it becomes something simpler.

Now that's a thought, how about routing seperate effects to each oscillator?

...each performer module can have two sequences. use the slider to switch between the two. you can also modulate that slider with an lfo with a square wave. if you set that lfo to 2/1 it should play the first sequence (if they have a length of 1 bar) and then the other sequence. that way you should be able to play two patterns continuously. or you use a midi controller to switch the patterns manually. this was just from the top of my head, so I could be wrong. but if this works you probably couldn't go any further than that with massive when it comes to sequencing...

I know. If you read, i've already stated this. I am suggesting that each performance modulator be given more than what is on offer. Infact, quite a lot more.

...indeed. I must have missed this - my bad.
