hey all, i'm trying to make an ens with a simple 2 "deck" resynth. i have a bunch of 32 bar loops that i want to switch through for a PA. what i'm trying to accomplish is: two separate resynth modules with the same sample map, "handing off" play such that when one resynth reaches the end of it's sample (ie. when pos = lng) the other one immediately picks up playing it's currently selected sample. i've got crossfade, sel/scan all down, it's just the logic / math modules in between that have got me confuffled. it's got to switch back and forth, in time, and that's it. in all other ways i'm fine with it working like two samplers. what's the best / most efficient way of setting up some logic so that each sampler hands off to the other smoothly?

i’m sure i am not the best person to help you, but it seems like you could just use two compare/equal modules with the a & b inputs driven by the lng & pos outputs of your two resynth modules; the = output of each going into the g(ate) input of the other resynth. and maybe an event merge before the first one [g(ate)] so it can also be driven by the g(ate) out of a start/stop module just to get things rolling?

thanks for the post. that's basically what i've been doing, although grain resynth itself has got me kind of confused as it's ignoring the gate entirely anyway as far as i can tell.

i'll keep poking. i just started on this thing today and since it's for a gig on thursday i'm getting a little nervous about it, so i popped in here before work. if anyone else could shed a little light on the subject i'd be grateful.

just to update anyone curious about this saga, one of the main problems with this is that grain resynth doesn't necessarily end on the absolute last sample, depending on what resynth parameters you choose. i've got a major kludge in effect right now to take that into account, but it doesn't quite work perfectly and i doubt that it's going to, at least in this iteration. i really like the way resynth zooms around in pitch (much more so than beat loop, which is my other option), but it looks like i'm stuck with beat loop for now.

the other problem is switching the "Active" deck at the right time, because not only must i select which deck to xfade to, i have to select which deck to accept "deck switch" events from as well, otherwise i get an infinite loop. so i end up retriggering everything basically all the time but just using a relay to get the audio i want, which doesn't really strike me as a very elegant solution either.

did you come up with a solution........
i am having basically the same problem with the resynths...
event loop when trying to compare/equal-gate......

yeah, i got it running okay but for the show i ended up using some beat loops in a different config. what problems are you having?
