    What's up ya'll.

Wow, I can't wait till the day when I can actually be one of the guys who ANSWERS a few questions every now and then! As for now, I'm in the learning stages and still figuring out how to do the basics. So here's my question, which is probably very basic.

I made a beat last night and I used Session Strings Pro for two of my tracks in the pattern. I shut down the computer before I went to bed. When I woke up and started up my computer and Maschine, I could see the events from those two tracks, but I do not hear any audio coming from them. All of my other tracks are playing just fine. Any idea as to what might be causing this? Thanks!

:confused:I discovered that when I reload the instruments I can hear audio again. But when I switch projects and come back, I have the same issue where I can see the events but not hear any audio. I tried saving project with samples, but that didn't work either. Besides, I would think that it would have nothing to do with saving samples seeing that I'm using virtual instruments and not samples.

maybe a bit more information would help ;)

are you opening Session Strings in the full version of Kontakt 5 or the Player version.

have you actually opened Session Strings in Kontakt in 'Standalone Mode', if you haven't please do that now!

the problem might be to do with samples - but with Kontakt.

I'm not even sure that I have the "player" version. I think I only have the full version. I'm COMPLETELY new to NI products, so please forgive me. I recently installed Komplete 8 Ultimate, and there is only one application for Kontakt, which I'm assuming is the full version. I have run Kontakt in standalone mode, and have opened Session Strings and most of the other Ultimate plug-ins in standalone as well. It's weird because I have two different tracks playing the same Session Strings instrument in two different octaves; one of the tracks works just fine, but the other track will not play any audio, even though I can see the events with my eyes. When I reload the instrument in that track, it works again. But I have to do this each time I reload the pattern.

There are two other strange thing is happening on this pattern as well. On another track I'm using an electric piano from Reaktor (Wurly). When I close out and reopen my pattern, the piano is super distorted, almost like a crunch effect or something. I'm not sure why it's saving this way.

The third problem is that I'm noticing that sometimes particular notes do not work after loading an instrument. I'll be hitting a chord on my keyboard and realize that one of my middle notes is silent. This happens fairly frequently. What's up with this? I guess I'll deal with one problem at a time!

I know I've been doing music in the Stone Age for the past 10 years producing on my Roland 909 Groovebox, but man I'll tell you what, that thing NEVER gave me a SINGLE technical problem! Modern tech allows us to do some pretty amazing things, but like they say, some things they just don't make like they used to ;-)

if you bought Komplete 8 Ultimate, you have the full version of Kontakt ;)

did you install the Library on an external hard drive, or on your computer?

do you mean 'Wurli'? this uses Junatik = please open the GUI. does the Dist button get turned on?

your third point, does this just happen with Instruments that use samples, or synths as well. could you list Instruments where this happens.

what computer and soundcard are you using?

    Thanks for your reply, Sowari.

I installed the Library on my computer. I have an external drive but it is formatted for my PC.

Yes, I did mean "Wurli." I did open the Reaktor plug-in editor and disabled the Dist button, which seemed to fix the problem.

I'm new to computer-based production altogether (I've been producing on keyboard workstations and grooveboxes for about 12 years), and I'm still not clear on what the difference is between instruments that use samples and synths. It's happened on several instruments, but the two that come to mind are Alicia's Keys and various instruments within Session Strings Pro.

I'm using the 27" iMac i7 3.4. I'm new to Mac as well, and my understanding is that its sound card is built into the motherboard. I can't find any information anywhere about the tech of the sound card itself. I'm using an Mbox 3 for my interface.

    Thanks again.

BTW, if it's of any import, I'm running Lion 10.7.4.

Just to follow up, Sowari, I just purchased an external HD yesterday and am now using it for my library. Still having the same problem.

could you try unplugging the MBox and use the Mac's Audio Out - you will need to change to in-built sound in Maschine's Audio Preferences.

btw, i am assuming you are using Maschine in Standalone Mode?

anyway, my suggestion is for trouble shooting reasons.

do you get samples missing errors?
