Events Playing Back in Different Key?

I'm not sure what's going on, but this happens fairly frequently. I have all of my patterns arranged into scenes as I like, and during playback, for no apparent reason, a particular pattern of events in a scene will play back in a different key from what I originally recorded. I'll press restart several times, usually to no avail. Generally, within a few minutes or so, it will return to the original key, and I can't seem to figure out a consistent thing that I'm doing to make it return to the original. This is really annoying. Does anyone else experience this problem or know what might be causing this? FYI, I will say that the one common thread is that this has only happened, as far as I can recall, after I have arranged my patterns into scenes. Thanks in advance for your help.

I'll add a few more details. Sometimes it's in a completely different key, but sometimes it's in the same key but a different octave, usually one octave higher. Also, in almost every case it happens with my basses.

1: this one project or all ?

2: does it happen with the factory projects?

3: start a blank and see what happens.

the only thing I can think of is that the tune function is jumping about. This happens to me on some sounds when I have the tune page open (mainly due to a slightly loose rotary I have. Or maybe you are unwittingly writing automation to to the pitch?

Doesn't happen on all projects. It usually happens on projects where I will have automated pitch bend on one of the patterns in my bass group.

On the current project, for instance, I have a bass line that I've broken up into two patterns. On pattern 1, I have written in a pitch bend throughout the pattern. On pattern 2, I do not have any pitch bend written in. The weird key change stuff usually happens when the scene changes and the pattern transitions from 1 to 2.

But the weird thing is that it only occasionally happens. I'll play through the project 15 times, and all the scenes will transition just fine. And then, all of a sudden, it will play back all out of whack and then it will work again.

this sounds like a problem i have had before,

if you save a song with the playhead mid way trough a pattern containing automation within a scene the effect that is automated recalibrates so that zero is set to wherever that parameter was at the point you saved.

try rewinding your song right to the start with the arrows and pressing save.

that should make it play back correctly.

Basically, automation is recorded relative to where your automation knob is set, and until Maschine 'pings' the next automation event, it remains at the same offset as when Maschine 'pinged' the last automation event. So if you're jumping around scenes, it can make your automation off. If you're using pitch bend, this can be quite discordant! Once I've recorded my automation, I usually click a bit of automation right at the start of the pattern in question where I want the offset to be at the start of the pattern, then I know that it'll always be where I want it when the pattern is started. Hope that makes sense.

I also do this, but I am not convinced this is a very convenient way of working as you have to do this for every pattern. Not that I can think of any solution for a way around it other than it shouldn't reset itself into the next scene unless you have specifically told it to.
