Ever since I installed Maschine+Software, Acid Pro has had issues

I'll try to keep this description simple & to the point.

I've worked with Acid seamlessly for years. I've successfully integrated Reason and Fruity Loops with it previously, although I no longer use those programs and they are no longer installed on my computer. No problems. I'm now using Acid Pro 7.0. My computer uses Windows XP. My soundcard is the M-Audio Delta 44.

I bought a Maschine last week, and I love it. I'd really like to incorporate it into my creative process. I'd also love to use it for live performances.

However, ever since I installed the Maschine & Maschine software, I have been having the following problems with Acid Pro (even if Maschine software is not turned on and the Maschine hardware controller is not plugged in):

1.) There is a delay of approximately 1/3 of a second that occurs any time I record and/or trigger the record feature. What I mean by this is: I can see my audio files in Acid while I play the Acid project I'm working on. The sound occurs approximately 1/3 of a second after the audio files SHOULD be triggered (when the record function is triggered or I am recording). In other words, I see my kick drum wave file and I see the audio cursor in Acid pass it, but I don't hear the kick until 1/3 of a second after I've seen the audio cursor run over the kick drum.

2.) Sometimes, when I have the recording feature triggered or I am recording, some of the tracks already recorded in Acid will skip or play before they are scheduled to play.

Despite these problems with Acid Pro, I experience no problems/glitches with Maschine software whatsoever.

These problems occur whether there is 1 track with no effects loaded in Acid or 50 tracks with multiple effects/vsts. I am recording live audio.

    I have already:

1.) Re-installed the drivers for my sound card (Delta 44).
    2.) Re-installed Acid Pro 7.0.
3.) Run a system latency check (I downloaded the program via article 343 posted on Native Instruments website) and the system shows no problems.

I'm running out of ideas. Please help! Acid Pro will always be my DAW and I use it for my professional work every day--I use it for everything from recording vocals to mixing sessions to producing/making beats. This Maschine conflict has already forced me to postpone several sessions. I'd hate to have wasted my money on a Maschine that I can't use simply because it somehow disrupts Acid.

I've spoken with one individual of Tech Support with N.I. on the phone, but they were not very helpful. They pretty much blamed the problem on Acid and weren't really willing to accept the fact that the problem has only occurred since I installed Maschine. I'm grateful N.I. has tech support via phone available, and I'm going to call back tomorrow and see if I can get someone else on the phone who may have some insight into this problem. Acid Pro wants $100 for Tech Support via phone, and after paying $300 for their program there's no way I can justify paying that, especially when I'm sure they're just going to point their finger at N.I.

    Please help!

I've never really used anything in your setup before, but just to be sure, did you run Maschine as a standalone plugin first BEFORE launching Acid? If not, you're going to experience problems, as this is the protocol for all NI software. I would reinstall and then launch in standalone if you didn't.

Thanks for your post. The first time I opened Maschine it was within Acid Pro as a plugin, I did not open it first outside of Acid Pro. I'm going to re-install all of the Maschine software and open Maschine as a standalone, and see if this does the trick. I have no need to open Maschine in Acid Pro so I simply won't do that.

I've also heard Waves plugins and Maschine software can cause problems with eachother, even if running in separate programs and not simultaneously. Is this true?

    Welcome =)

Choose the "use fixed buffer size" option in Acid; that should take care of your latency problem.
Acid has problems with plugins that use internal buffers to cut down on CPU load, and doesn't compensate properly unless you use the fixed buffer option.

You shouldn't have problems with Waves plugins and Maschine. Whoever told you that doesn't know what he's talking about.

As far as running Maschine as a standalone- that's essential. That's why it's specifically stated to do so in the last installer screen.

    Thanks for your insight.

I've removed Maschine software and toyed with the soundcard settings and I've got things back to normal. When I get back to the studio tonight I will see if I can successfully install the Maschine software and run it as a standalone before using it as a plugin.

    Soleternity,

Did you happen to figure it out? I also use ACID PRO 7 as my DAW (don't plan on changing) and I use the M-Audio 192 soundcard (similar to yours). I also have WAVE plugs installed.

Anyway, I'm ordering the Maschine this week so I'm curious to know what you've figured out. The only difference that I can see is that I'm on Windows 7 64-bit?

    Ok here's what you do.
    1. Open Acid
    2. At the bottom left of Acid click on the Plug-In Mangager tab.
    3. Select Soft Synths, All and then Failed Plug-Ins.
    4. You should see Maschine listed here. Right click Maschine and select Rescan.
Note: You'll have to do this for MAschine FX also and that's it.
Now when you go to your plug-ins MAschine will be listed and just run it from there.
Just remember to CLOSE MASCHINE FIRST BEFORE EXITING ACID 7.
You don't have to run Maschine as a Stand alone.

FYI my setup is very similiar to yours or what it use to be and I still use all the programs you've mentioned.
Windows XP, Audio Card RPC-1 connected to a Roland VS-2480
Acid 7, MAschine, Reason, Record, FL Studio etc.
