So new users can't post but the spambots can? Hilarious

Weird, the spam has not been deleted since saturday and no new spam was posted since then. Maybe we should just leave it :D

No, nothing has changed. They might be running some VPN or something

Why anyone would be stupid enough to buy anything recommended by a spambot is beyond me anyway - particularly a fake degree - what would be the point of that?

Beyond absurd that NI seems to have finally implemented a post delay - but on reporting spam! - even though spammers still seem to be able to get away with posting their crap every few minutes

The post delay has been in place for quite a while now and unfortunately, it's not always preventing spam. The platform and anti-spam we have are just not doing a good enough job despite all the tactics we put in place (post delay, manual approval of users, double account checks ...).
Good news is that we're about to start building a new forum.

No, you have the option to ignore particular users if you want, basically, it hides anything they post from you.

Thanks D-One, did not know. But with spammers, I guess they always change the sender ?

Yes, there are always new ones, I guess ignore can work when it's just one or two overwhelming a forum section.

I set them in the ignore list to have a free view to new postings.
2 or 3 days later they are mostly vanished.
Is there a way to scan the IP# from the sender?

they change their IP's all the time. I have even tried banning whole IP ranges but it brings nothing

IP-BANs are tricky so it's something you avoid unless there's is one salty user with a static IP who keeps getting banned and making new accounts, I never saw this happen here, folks are generally well behaved.

A lot of people have dynamic IP's meaning they often change, a lot of users also use VPN's for privacy reasons so they share the same IP's, banning one would ban a bunch of people. The Spam issue here is pretty light, it does not justify the IP-ban hassle.

The only solution I can think of is to block key Chinese words that get repeated a lot in those spam posts, like "Diploma" or something, but I am not even sure if the forum has this functionality.

we're already blocking 853 words and phrases to no avail. Once they figure out their messages cant get posted, they simply switch the text. Thats why the spam texts are also different every time

Well... I can almost admire the persistency of whoever admins those bots...
TBH I don't think it's a big deal, spam gets removed pretty fast especially if reported.
