    Solved if follow these steps:

    1. Google, download and install PlistEdit Pro (free)

    2. In your system, go to "User"/Library/Preferences/Pro-53.plist

    3. Double click on the Pro-53.plist file (os x automatically opens via PlistEdit Pro)

    4. PlistEdit Pro opens up huge list. Skip to very bottom of the list

    5. Check the Defaults_Presents list (should be 4 from bottom)

    6. It will say this: Leopard:Applications:pro-53::pro-53 Presets:def.p5a

    7. Change it to this: Leopard:Applications:pro-53:pro-53 Presets:def.p5a
(essentially you're just deleting one too many of these ":")
    8. Save the file

    9. Open logic

    10. Choose both Pro-53 + Pro-53FX when prompted by AU verification

    11. Done!

Had the same thing - Cubase was choking because it was trying to load def.p5a and couldn't find it. (This wasn't an issue with Live, by the way.)

Here's how I solved the issue in OS X:

    1. Found the def.p5a file in the "/Applications/Pro-53/defaults" folder.

    2. Copied the file one folder up, to "/Applications/Pro-53/" root.

Loaded up fine for me next time, in Cubase.

I found a simple solution for the problem.

    1.Open SERVICE CENTER.
    2.Go to OVERVIEW tab.
3.Click on SHOW DETAILS on Pro-53
4.Click LOCATE and chose folder where Pro-53 is installed.
