As I mentioned in the title of the thread, everytime I load Pro53 it asks for def.p5a . This has just started happening since I updated to 3.0.4.

Can anyone tell me how to stop it from doing this?

...Whoops, just saw the other thread on this same prob. However, the solution in the other thread did not work for me.

    Hi,

    Try this:

First back up any patches you may have saved to /applications/Pro-53

Drag the Pro-53 folder to the trash.

Now install the original version off of your installation disk.

    Does the original version work?

    Cheers

    Andy

    Hi Andy,
Unfortunately, I don't have time for experiments at the moment... bit too much goin' on. I will have to put up with the problem for afew more days, before I can get into this.
    Regards,
    Matt

I'm having the same problem. It asks about 5 times, then gives up and lets me in. Very annoying. N.I. says it's a known issue.

As I mentioned in the other thread, I have the paths set correctly and it still asks everytime for every instance (OSX)

I too have experienced the same issue regarding the def.p5a file. Tried to fix with no success.
But_ I just reinstalled P53 3.04 in the same location.
First launch it asked for a controller txt file_ addressed that and all was well.
Quit_ relaunched_ no file requests_ success
Launched as a plugin_ no file requests_success.

I hope this can work for you too, as I find these silly issues annoying.

    PS_ I use a mac OSX10.4_

Ok... I think we might be getting somewhere.

If I follow exactly what you described above, I get the same result as before... Keeps requesting the file etc.
If however, I delete the prefs file from the all users Library folder, I am prompted for a serial number again in the ServiceCenter.
At this point, I stopped and put the prefs file back, as I didn't want to burn another authorization.
Things are a mess with regard to authorizations at the moment. I have a main machine (G5 2x2), a PC running Komplete3 and Komplete 2 products only half work on the main machine... and it also appears that the old machine (a G4 2x533 which I no longer have) is still partially authorized, according to the registrations web page.
This presents another problem, in that I can't tell which is which on that page, because none of the numbers there seem to make any sense to me.

    mattrixx,
As far as the (de)authorizations go; perhaps you could decifer the G4 machine by the date authorized.

I'm not sure what to suggest as far ass the defp5a continued request.

Remove the plist pref for Pro53 from your "user" acct Library Preferences.
Make sure the defp5a file is in the Preset folder.
Launch the stand alone first, then try as a plugin.

As I stated this is what worked for me
    best_

    Thanks djacko,
Yeah, I tried this, but it still asks for it.... I am not going to mess with the authorization issues, but will have to shortly as I am about to purchase a MacBookPro and want to run it as a second machine.
Mmm, we'll see how we go.

    Hi Mat,

Reply to the original automated mail and restate you problems, do this every few days.

This is the only way that I ever get a reply from support, NI support is not the best in the world.

    Cheers

    Andy
