    Hi,

all my EWQL Kompakt libraries won't start after I installed the latest version oft the NI Service Center. Windows XP!

    Error:
    Your systemconfiguration changed.
Please use the registration tool in the application folder to register EWQL GoldXP/Colossus/usw...

It wont run if I use it Standalone, as Plugin or in Kontakt 3 but the Kontakt3 Factory Library works still perfekt.

Afte this error accures, the Library is deaktivated in the NI Service Center. When I reactivate it nothing changes. The library is stated as activated but wenn I try to use the library its just another please activate Error!

    Can someone help me, please?

Aha! I just came this forum today to ask about the same problem with EWQLSO. You're not alone!

Can you confirm something for me?
Take a note of the System ID in the EWQLSO's own (old) Registration Tool
Now, open the Service Centre, activate (optional) and look at Overview->EWQLSO (expand the details view) -> System ID.

For me, the last 5 digits are different in the 2 apps for the System ID.

It's funny, you go months without any problems with NI instruments, and then one thing goes wrong and you realise what an annoyance NI activation can be sometimes. :( :( :(

I installed Steven Slate Drums which re-installed Kontakt Player 2 and had to update Service Center to register SSD and now ALL MY KOMPAKT LIBRARIES, including ALL my EastWest (7 of them!) and my 2 Garritan Kompakt libraries (GPO and BBJ) are stuffed! I get the "Error: Your systemconfiguration changed...." message on ALL OF THEM!

And just like the OP, launching the new Service Center, I see that the instances of Kompakt I tried to use appear as needing activation, but even after activating them, when I open one of these Kompakt instances give me the same original message: "Error: your system...". Some of them are giving me the 14 days trial, but some of them don't!

My Kontakt Player 2 libraries are unaffected, but this is a BIG DEAL AS I"M TRYING TO FINISH A PROJECT

    >>> NOW!<<<<<

I'm following this up with tech support and calling them in the ASAP morning. This is REALLY BAD.

Kompakt activation error after update of Service Center

Hi. Just signed up here today to confirm that I have got the same problem. "Service Center" (funny name for a copy protection tool, btw) "updated" to a new version that de-activated all of my EWQL Kompakt Plugins/Libraries. I have contacted Tech support about it as well. Everything had been working fine for many months before yesterday, and as far as I can see, there has been no change in my "system configuration", the only change being the "update" of NI-Service Center. This is indeed very bad, but as quite a lot of users seem to have that problem, there is probably hope for help soon...

    Cheers, V.

Well, if you are updated to SC2 then SC2 made a back-up of the previous version of SC and that is version 1.2.3.2. Now what I found is the following: if you uninstall SC version 2, so the current version, there will be a rollback of the previous version and you will see that everything will be working just the way as before. To be sure look in to the Native Instruments map for the Service Center map and there you will see a file called ‘ServiceCenter.exe_SAVED’. That is the previous version...

Unfortunately, I'm re-installing everything after a system crash, so I don't have any old versions of Service Centre.

Also, the 30-day demo thing doesn't help me because all my projects use Kontakt2 as the player for my EW libraries and they aren't available when the KompaktPlayer is in demo mode.

Lesson learned, don't rely on the latest ServiceCentre until it's been out a while. :(

    Come on NI... fixy fixy.

Hmmmm .... thanks for the hint, acim, but I don´t have an old backup version of Service Center either. Is it - as an intermediate fix - still downloadable anywhere ? Thanks, V.

If you have Kontakt2 DVD's there is surely a version of the 'old' Service Center standing on it. Maybe you try to install that again. After that you will be asked to activate some products. That will be not all to be done... Follow this link: https://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=scbachauth_us&lcd=1 and log in with your account. Then you have the opportunity to download a 'support file' with all your activations whatever by clicking the tab 'NEXT'. Save this file on your HD. Now start SC and go to the Main Menu and select 'Product Overview'. You will see a bunch of activations there. Now click the tab 'Support File'. after that you are asked to load the file you downloaded to your HD. So know where you have put it... Double click and all activations should be OK. That's just a suggestion

NI SC 1.2xxx is no longer downloadable I'm quit sure... You'll find it on DVD's / CD's of Kontakt2, Reaktor5, Absynth, Guitar Rig2 but NOT on stuff of Zero-G, Best Service, EWQL...:(

    Possible Solution ?

Very nice. I don´t have old Kontakt DVDs either (on my EastWest DVDs there´s only the now unsupported pre-Service-Center Registratrion Tool...), but probably with the offline activation method described above one can avoid the self-update of Service-Center 2.0.x (bugfree, I think, and downloadable from NI free updates) to the bugged last update 2.1.x. Will try that when I come home from work tonight. Maybe someone can confirm that earlier ? Many thanks! V.

I did that some days ago and it does NOT work. The only way is uninstalling SC2 after auto-update OR somewhere getting version 1.2.3. Like described I managed to get out of my problems. Zero-G, Best Service and EWQL stuff are working again...
    ---
And NI said: We exist since… 2007. :) And they made SC2. Now they are saying: Oeps, do they still use all that stuff? :| All ‘old’ products are now unusable: Intakt, Kompakt, Absynth1-2-3, Bandstand, Battery1-2, Reaktor1-2-3-4, Akoustic Piano, FM7…. Now, if you managed to use them in Kontakt3 or Kore2 by means of presets like I did, you are in big trouble. Kontakt3 stops and Kore2 crashes. There surely will be a bugfix but when? The only way out is SC 1.2.3

The service center on my K2 disks is 1.0.0.16x, not 1.2. Uninstalling SC2 did not revert to the previous version on my system, it just completely removed SC2. I'm now going to look for 1.2x on my other disks.

Unbelievable that this hasn't even been commented on by NI...

Yes, it's strange and... If you manage to install version 1.2xx from scratch, you will get some other weird, very strange phenomenon. All the 'old' applics will be activated but NOT the newer ones although they will work? A rather sneaky situation... My only 'luck' was that SC2 auto-update created a back-up file of the 1.2.3. version that I renamed 'ServiceCenter.exe'. Documentation on the NI-site is pointing to a rollback using SC2 uninstall... I also expanded that particular part of a previous HD backup to the native Instruments Service Center map. Most likely I did some thing like overwriting the version 1.2.3 activation data with those of SC2. The easiest way to prevent 'damage' is like I said: if you were upgraded from v 1.2.x to version 2 then you have the back-up file on your HD. Simply renaming it solves most of your problems... But I guess it is up to NI now. I did try all options

Is there anyone from NI who can confirm that this is a known bug and what NI want to do about it?

It seems I am not the only one with that problem!

    Solution

Hello again .... I solved the problem (for me) the way I descriebed above, everything is working fine again now. If you want to try it: Uninstall Service Center. Download Service-Center 2.0.6 (available in the support section) and install it, and only start it if your computer is not connected to the internet any more. Start the offline-registration procedure by producing an "activation request file". Close Service Center. Connect to the Internet, double-click the activation request file, follow the instructions until you get the "activation return file", disconnect again before you then restart Service Center. Import the activation return file, and you´re done. At least that worked for me. Just be sure that your Computer is not connected to the Internet while Service Center is running, so that it cannot upgrade to the latest (buggy) version. Cheers, and good luck, V.

That's also a good one, especially for those who can't use the rollback function :) Not being connected to the internet was just that 1 thing I was not being aware of  Not being able to update is indeed a must... Also for the whole period there is still no bugfix !

Also got the same problem (with EW Gold and Bosendorfer 290). A non-workaround solution would be appreaciated as this appears to be a rather large cock-up on NI's part.

    Thank you.

    This workaround is great! Thanks!

But it is indeed still a workaround and still nobody from NI popped in to give us some information about an upcoming bugfix.
