exclusion cuepoints

as posted in the traktor-pro announcement thread, heres a feature request that received positive response:

"exclusion cuepoints"

for example, you have 4 bars in a track you don't ever want to play. mark the beginning of this section with "exclude start" cuepoint, and the end with "exclude end". traktor then simply jumps over this section when the file is playbacked.


i would need this for some older tracks which seem to be live-produced without sequencers - there are pieces in these tracks that bring a mix out of 4/4 sync. with exclusion cuepoints one could fix that super easily

+1. This would help me stay away from Ableton and in Traktor more (as would some sort of warping ability for beat markers, but I digress).

+1 This is seriously one of the most important missing features for me. so much extra work doing hard edit's elsewhere.

i'm not the guy who has to code it (nor could i) but it seems (to my not-capable-of-coding-it brain) that it would be a pretty simple thing to implement.

This could be a bit like having the red ruler shading in cubase; everything highlighted is skipped.
I believe NI probably will implement because its a much asked for and very useful feature to have, which shouldn't be too hard to implement. The easiest way i can imagine is to create an additional new cue point that triggers an automated beatjump, with the option of simply jumping to the next cue point of its kind for non sequenced music.

Speaking of which, i mentioned a work around to this in another thread recently whereby you can drag/drop your playing track onto a silenced deck, beatjump it forward as many times as necessary to get past unwanted regions, then rapidly cut between the two decks.
With the current amount of support for a proper way of doing this, I'd be surprised if NI aren't working on it right now...

 

I personally beatjump/cue jump but i do agree this would be handy feature - theres some parts of songs that you just never want to play... ever !

I play for younger audience in non-profit association against drugs. When doing so or also for yonger audience in general i exclude some music but with this option i could maybee use some tracks anyway. Although i must consider they can hear or have heard those track in original somewhere else and not overuse it in that regard.
