I have had the issue of the explorer tree constantly collapsing in Traktor and I always have to go back and open my music folders and search through to get my place back. Not a huge deal since I know where all of my music is sorted out. It's just a pain in the butt. I was wondering if anyone else has this issue with Traktor and if so, were you able to fix it so this doesn't happen. I'm all patched to 2.6.7. I have a MBP late 2011 with 8 GB of RAM using OSX10.9.1. However, this has been happening for a long time and it doesn't matter what version of my OS or Traktor I'm using. I don't want to remove then reinstall Traktor if I don't have to. But if that is the overall consensus I will. Hopefully someone will know a fix.

I've searched the forums for this exact issue and was unable to find anyone else having it. If there is I apologize in advanced if I missed a post about it.

    Cheers,

The solution I found is mapping browser tree not to collapse.

i have several german users (all on mac) complaining about it - rough explanation: traktor collapses the tree structure when you remove a harddrive, e.g. an external drive or usb stick or even a cd. however, it seems that apple is doing some "magic" that makes traktor think its hdd has been removed / put to sleep. please contact support - we're collecting info atm about it.

Already have a ticket with support opened for a few days. That's why i posted the message. Haven't heard back from support yet.

Abebe, I'm not quite sure I understand mapping the browser tree not to close. Do you have a link on how to do that?

I don’t have link but you can follow these steps if you want to do the mapping also Screenshot is attached.

You can map browser tree to Expand/Collapse in Controller Manager as following
    1) Open Preferences > Controller Manager
    2) Check in Device Setup > Device box if traktor 2 default mapping + under In-Port box Keyboard are present, if not click on the orange arrow to select them
    3) Click on Add In… to open the fall down menu
    4) With your mouse scroll/move down to Browser list then on the right side to tree again on the right side menu move down to select Expand/Collapse and click on.
    5) In Device Mapping click on Learn it will light orange.
    6) Now on your keyboard type in the right square bracket “]” this I have checked in traktor keyboard shortcuts documentation and is not assigned.
    7) Check under Mapping Details that type of Controller is Button and Interaction Mode is Direct.
    8) Under Button Options in Set to value click on the orange arrow to select Expand from the popup menu.
    9) Now go back and click on learn the orange light will disappear.
    10) Close Preferences by clicking on close.
Every time you navigate to your music folders under Explorer these will keep the browser tree open won’t collapse. Maybe after traktor is shutdown and start again it will collapse but just navigate again to your music folders and the command will listen will not late it collapse until you shutdown traktor.

    Success!

The third image is the final mapping.

I think this problem is caused by NI self because while I was mapping the value Collapse was assigned as a default value in Set to value box that makes the browser tree to collapse.

Was this issue ever resolved? I am using the Kontrol S8 now and it seems to be happening more frequently than it did before I began using the device.

I use Technics and the A10 and never had the issue until I updated to the latest version on El Capitan. Always normally stay at least one operating system and update behind. Will be sticking to that practice again now moving forward. It's not even that big a deal but it's just REALLY annoying!!

Heya folks, I had issues with this on my MacBook Pro, and I managed to work out that Time Machine could cause this issue while it is taking a snapshot (on a network drive in my case).

Try turning off 'Automatic Backup' and see if this helps you.

Hope this might help some of you !

    Cheers,

    Rob
