I cant seem to get this working, the manual isnt helping, maybe Im an idiot. I am trying to export a group as a midi file. I have the group MIDI output setting set to "active" and the individual sounds are not active. when i drag the pattern into ableton it is trying to give me 16 separate tracks of midi. I want one midi file with different note sequences. This used to be "sounds to midi notes". the manual says it should be reliant on the midi settings, but they dont seem to matter. Does anyone have this working properly?

Actually it seems like the group MIDI functions are broken. I am getting no response with MIDI messages at the group level, only per sound. This is as a plugin in ableton, I havent tested other scenarios yet. Anyone else having trouble?

There are several threads about this problem. Don not open new ones about the same problem please.

That's not very helpful. I'm having the same issue and I read five pages of threads to no avail. Please post a link to the helpful thread you speak of.

There seems to be no useful way to get around this. See what sowari wrote. For me it is also a bummer as I always worked this way between Maschine and Live. Having one channel in Live per Maschine group. Drag and Drop of a group from Maschine to Live does not really work for the moment or only in a extremly time consuming method...
I will work now with 1.8 and my MKI and put my Maschine Studio aside as long as Drag & Drop is fixed. All my projects are setup this way between Maschine and Live.

    Word, thanks Solum.

I'm in the same position. This is the lamest change. What good does multicore / multiple groups / etc serve me if my DAW is limited to sending midi to sounds only, which would quickly fill up 16 midi channels?

Yep, it`s a joke. It was the main reason to upgrade to 2.0 when I read that groups will be unlimited. This would have been a dream but with the new limitation this is useless...
I hope the group drag & drop issue will be fixed soon.

Yup...i spent all day yesterday having great fun, even created the entire drums with the synth drums for a track...only to find when i dragged and dropped it into ableton i had 32 channels of midi and audio for just the drums...did the same in S1 too..I thought I had lost the ability to understand a manual lol

I cried a little then fell into a deep depression

Then i recorded the audio instead

I think NI just wanted to help you become more productive by making you commit to audio sooner.

I've been doing everything in Maschine standalone, using this as an opportunity to let limitations spur my creativity.

But like, for real, this is super annoying

<rant> I'm all for being grateful for NI's hard work, showing credit where credit is due, recognizing that these are very quality problems to have in the grand scheme of life, etc. But I dropped $100, which is about 110% of my disposable income for the month, only to wish I had waited until 2.x. It's not just this; I also lost three hours of work yesterday when Maschine crashed for some reason or another (related to the fact that I didn't update The Mouth--how slovenly of me!) and when I restarted the program there was no autosave in place. I should have saved my work, but...damn. Feel like I've been getting bummed out at every turn with this update. I refuse to use 1.8 as a point of pride, but it's starting to look like an exciting alternative to 2.0. </rant>

I had my first ever bluescreen using maschine as a plugin

I expect it to be a bit rough at the beginning due to it being a complete rewrite...at least it didnt mean 1.8's gone, i just hope they get an update out soon covering some of the problems quickly

Having the same problem. Annoying. Reverting to 1.8 till this is fixed.
