Till now I could simply open an exs instrument by double-clicking or dragging it from the filebrowser within kontakt. since the newest update, none of these routines is working for me: kontakt is asking for missing samples.Iif i do any automatic search, kontakt doesn't find the samples. If i do a manual search for samples, the sample (they do exist!) is greyed out and i can't select it. If i do search for folder, i can choose the folder with the samples in it, but still kontakt is asking for missing samples....Also the import function is not working. Kontakt creates an instrument, but not the samples.
Am I doing something wrong, or is it the new and fresh version that is buggy ?
    Any help welcome.

I'm sure I'm asking the obvious, but did you try rebuilding your database?

yes, but the database does not seem to see any exs-files, because none of them is beeing listed.
I tried the same procedure as described in my first post in kontakt version 2.1.0., which i still run on my powerbook, there it's almost the same, BUT: if i choose (after the missing sample dialog) the right folder with the samples in it, they load and everything is fine...
Btw, where is the database update-button? i only see a rebuild-button, and that meens everytime going for a coffee...

The update database button was removed in the 2.1 update because it never worked very well. I hope that function does make it back in at some point, though.

Send me the .exs file in question to nisupport*chickensys.com; I can check it for you.

In that last step, where you "search for folder", are you sure that at least 1 sample that is specified as not being found actually exists in the folder you select?

That's what's supposed to happen. It would be wasteful to duplicate the samples - it's more effecient to reference the samples that already exist.

Still, here have been users that have said "yeah, I WANT to duplicate the samples". One good example of this would be if you have the EXS files and samples on CD.

I hope this feature, although it's not hugely important since working around it is so easy, will be implemented in an upcoming update.
