external midi controller

    i run maschine as a plugin in protools, i also have a midi keyboard hooked up to my mbox and i have got it to control the maschine by accident but icant figure out how to do it on purpose. can anyone please help?

    Get 2 midi cables, and run 1 from midi out on Maschine to midi in on your keybpard. Same for the other but the other way around. Open Maschine go to > file >audio midi settings, and click on the midi tab. The keyboard should show in the list Devices. Click on in the status column of both the inputs and outputs. Should now be able to use your keyboard to play...:)

    I don't think there are Audio and MIDI settings in plugin mode though, as the host's audio and MIDI settings are used.

    And I don't know Pro Tools at all. But you'll have to direct your MIDI in from your keyboard to the track that Maschine is on in Pro Tools. I don't know if you can do this within that track (as in set that MIDI in to control that Maschine track - probably), or whether you have to set up another MIDI track and then route its MIDI to the Maschine track.

    Maybe a Pro Tools user can help you more...
