Solved Extra power adapter for Maschine plus

Anyone have any recommendations? I see a few on Amazon but don't seem to meet the amperage requirement like this one.

I think this one meets the power requirements... unfortunately, there’s very little information on that page...

I bought this adapter (via Thomann) to install it permanently in my desk, where I don’t need the lock, but the adapter does not work for the Maschine+!

The barrel plug of the adapter doesn’t sit tightly in the socket of the M+. Moving or just touching (!) the DC cable will lead to power failure. The same problem was with a third party 5.5 x 2.5 mm DC cable from a Guitar Effects power supply.

That's an odd one - I've just tested it and it fits pretty good when plugged all the way. It definitely doesn't switch off when I move the unit around or by just tapping the power supply.

I have exactly the same problem. I have 2 studios and want a separate adapter for both. I got the same adapter and when wiggling the cable/plug the power resets. It's horrible and it got me into trouble a few times during a stream. Any tips? How did you fix this?

 

Thanks for bringing this up. Although bad for you, it’s reassuring to read others have the same issue.

It’s not fixed. I was instructed to return the PSU.

If not plugged into the original PSU installed at my desk, I use a Omnicharge 20+ power bank as power source.

I suggest you open a ticket as well.

 

Waarschijnlijk laten de soldeerverbindingen van de DC connector op het mainbord van de studio los.
Dit gebeurd wel vaker bij dit soort verbindingen.
Als je zelf handig bent de verbinding opnieuw solderen en je kunt er weer jaren tegenaan.

Probably the solder joints of the DC connector on the main board of the studio are coming loose.
This often happens with these types of connections.
If you're handy yourself, re-solder the connection and you can use it for years to come.

wrap some electrical tape around it or... make it better.. get a piece of foam, cut to size. put velcro tape on bottom and make hole in foam to fit dc plug. this is a good thing to do with usb c devices... macsales makes these for usb c...
optionally, get a dc extension cable and plug adapter end to that using the dc extension cable to the unit..... as it almost sounds like there may be a manufacturing issue with the diameter or the post in the port of the unit of the hole in the cable plug...

Most probably manufacturing tolerances. I found that mine only works with a certain type of barrel connectors.

maybe it is a metric / standard thing.. so there would be a small amount of play due to precision of measurements in manufacturing

 

So could anyone please confirm that this power supply sits well in M+ socket?
Besides, are there plans to sell the one that has the lock on NI website and when?

 

I bought the 40w one so I could sit on the couch with the + and I have no issues with it whatsoever.

 

As the mentioned alternative is out of stock (too), is there another suitable replacement available?
