I have recently figured out how to extract the artwork from Reaktor, which is something myself and many others have tried to do before.

I personally only want to use them for proportion templates and to see how they work so well, so i am going to go ahead and extract them.
but i was wondering how NI feel about me sharing these files once i have extracted them. If it a no no then i will keep them to myself for learning purposes only.

an answer from an official NI member here would be nice, but all other suggestions welcome.

    thanks

honestly, i'd write a PM to keir. NI reps aren't around here that often.

anything that's a freebie in reaktor player seems like it should be fair game, since it's available to the public at large, but i'm not sure.

Hmm, not so sure. Extracting embedded artwork would technically count as reverse engineering. Whether NI would slap a cease and desist on you is another thing :)

Here is a chunk of the ULA - I made the important bit bold.

    "III. Scope of Use

The Products from Native Instruments are protected by law. The intellectual property of the Products remains at Native Instruments. Licensee as purchaser of the Product acquires only the right to use Product to the following extent. Any other use or exploitation not explicitly granted to Licensee in this EULA shall not be allowed without written consent from Native Instruments. Specifically, Licensee is not entitled to copy or have copied, decompile or have decompiled, reverse engineer or have reverse engineered the Product or parts thereof. Licensee must ensure by appropriate and reasonable steps that third parties, including its own employees, cannot make unauthorized use of the Product. Licensee shall be liable to Native Instruments for any loss or damage in this context."

    thanks for the replies.
it would seem according to that ULA that they will not be happy about it.
even if i state where i share it that it is to be used only for reference purposes they are probably not going to like it.

i will send them a message either way and see how it goes.

is keir an NI employee member of the forum?

    thanks

Hi - I'm looking into this. It's a grey area so thanks for asking. Officially speaking the answer might well be 'not on your nellie' but I'm continuing to look into it.
