Is there any way someone could send me the TSI file of the Traktor Kontrol F1 factory mapping? I can't seem to find it anywhere. I thought it was included in Traktor Pro, but it's not.

If someone could find that for me, I would very greatly appreciate it!

    Thanks,

    -Opie

In preferences open up the controller manager.
then click the import tsi drop down menu at the top.
It is just listed under the F1 in the device list as Default.
I hope this is enough information to get you the mapping.
I am on my phone so don't have a map.
Also the F1 of course needs setup with the driver too. So that it is recognized and you can select it as an input after the map is there.

Thanks, Zephry, but it's not in there. Of NI controllers, only the S2 and S4, Machine series, Audio Kontrol 1, and Kore 2 are there.

You need to have a relatively recent version of Traktor for F1 support - at least version 2.5 by memory - but I suggest you upgrade to the latest version for full F1 support.

I have the most recent version. I installed Traktor about two weeks ago. I really am just looking for the TSI file, and it will solve all my problems. Could someone export it and post it in this thread, please?

    Thanks for your help, nonetheless,

Had to zip it to send, I wasn't sure if we are allowed to post default tsi. but there is no problems with edited mappings so I hope its ok.
Keep in mind when you add it you wont see any command lines it will just be blank.
As well to access this tsi. you actually should have it. it will be listed as the screenshot below. Not as "import tsi" at the bottom of the list. f1 find.JPG

Oh ignore the tsi you see in the screenshot behind the list, that's some crazy stuff I added via a user map and default map edit. One is a buildup with the encoder and sync button. The other is a map that allows each pad press to mute. If you or anyone is interested I can upload those maps.

Thanks, Zephry. Let me get this straight: The mapping without any visible commands has the full F1 mapping inside it? Like, hidden commands or something? I'm trying to make my first user mapping, and just learning how to use the controller manager for the first time. I wanted to make my mapping from scratch, and I'm trying to recreate the Gain attenuation function, like Shift + Volume Fader does in the F1. I can't get that right, and I'd really like to apply that function to Volume & Gain in the Mixer. Also, I can't even find the parameter for Slot Pitch & Gain.

Does anyone know how to do those two things in a mapping?

    Thanks,

    -Opie

Yeah the default mapping appears blank.
The actual commands for each pad, knob, etc. can be overwritten, although you would need to know modifiers and some advanced mapping skills. One of my maps overwrites the knob for a buildup effect. But to do this it uses a modifier command.
Mapping is almost impossible to relay in a post. As well it is more of a personal thing. I have downloaded maps and almost always change something or just make my own.

The manual covers some as well YouTube and Traktor Bible

For Traktor there are 3 different ways to map.

The Default: NI hardware shows blank but as of I think Traktor version 2.0 let's you add commands and there is an option to overwrite whatever knob, pad, etc. you assign the commands to.

The Generic midi map: Uses all the normal NI commands, but the hardware is put into "midi mode" usually via shift+browse buttons. This works well for things like the new "slicer mode" which is only active as default on the new S8 controller. The drawback here is the workflow can get a bit tricky. And faders knobs will not match when returning to the default map. So buttons and endless encoders work best for this. The other issue is the assignments are "cc" control/change. Not the easy left shift/right shift, effect knob1,and so on. As well for led and some other intricacies you need to use the Controller Editor, a separate application. The Controller Manager is in Traktor preferences. Commonly confused. The Controller Editor also shows the layout of all the "cc" assignments for the hardware.

The User map: Works along with the default map and has no need for midi mode for use. Also most led functions are mappable (led lights mapping can get tricky it took me a while to get this, and some workarounds are required for certain results) This is where downloading other maps similar to what you want and learning how it all works will get you what you want. The User map almost certainly requires the knowledge of modifiers and a lot of experimenting with what will work.

Hope this helps you out. I tried to explain the best I know.

That should be available in the drop down list, go to Preferences in Traktor
    Open the Controller manager
At the top click the add mapping
And select the default from there.

Any update to Traktor adds all the default mapping.
