I use my Kontrol F1s for both Remix Decks and in midi mode to launch FX. Unfortunately they randomly disappear from the In/Out ports in the Controller Manager. Unplugging and replugging, closing and opening Traktor, doesn't work. This is a bug, I brought it up to NI before. Obviously this is bad, you go to a gig and expect everything to work and all of a sudden it doesn't. NI need to resolve whatever it is that is interfering with the F1 staying in the In/Out ports once assigned.

What OS are you using? Do you connect your F1 directly to the computer or through a USB hub?

Yes, USB HUB. Which I'm not willing to change as my mac only has two USB ports and I run two F1s, X1, A10.

Do you have a selfpowered hub with no external power supply unit? We are using even more controllers (F1, X1, two midi keyboards and a Korg controller) on a D-Link hub that has external power. No problems.

The Hub is self powered. Happened to me again at a gig last night. Loaded up everything from scratch, one of my F1s controls FX in MIDI mode, didn't happen. I would have rebooted everything but didn't have the chance. Traktor randomly removes the F1 midi port. Using Mac OSX Lion. 2.4ghz, 4 Gig RAM.

    I have no clue...
NI does not have an answer either, right?

NI said to reboot everything and it'll work again, which is true, but why it happens is still a mystery. HID is solid, it's the midi aspect with the F1 that has issues. It's like Traktor will recognize that the F1 is connected (in my case 2) but doesn't always recognize the F1 for midi.
