Failed on Komplete 10 Ultimate Installation

    Okay, so I'm an overzealous NI user... Picked up Komplete Ultimate 10 Upgrade and Kontrol S61 last night. Have Komplete Ultimate 8 with Content on an external on an Intel MacBook Pro w Mac OSX 10.9.4

    Get 8 minutes and 15 seconds into the install after Running PKG Scripts then Writing PKG Receipts. Something else blinks and then it immediately fails with the msg: "Installation Failed. An Unknown Installation Error Occurred".

    Anyone?

    Is nearly the same here, but it takes arround an half an hour to get the error, I tried many diffrent ways to install, but the error always appears. Anyone have an idea to fix it?

    Chris was yours a clean install of Komplete or were you updating a previous version?

    I'm getting similar problems. I've installed the applications but I get the error when installing the content. Most of the time I get the installation error you describe, though occasionally I get an error saying 'Software couldn't be installed because no software was found to install.' I've managed to get a few bits and pieces installed but the majority of it is unusable. First time NI customer, very disappointed so far.

    I've tried to update from Komplete 9 Ultimate, on Mac OS X 10.9.5, the error appears even if I copy the install file to the desktop, but than it says that the files are missing. No chance to install it anyway.

    Hi all,

    This is my first message here, I thought I'd add my installation woes to the thread, perhaps someone would have an idea what is going on considering that NI support takes so long to respond….(I've emailed them 4 days ago)
    IHave just bought a Komplete 10 ultimate upgrade from Komplete 9 and installed it without the problem on my Mac book pro (2.7 Ghz i7, running 10.9.4) but when I plug the installer drive to my mac pro (3.33 Ghz 6-core, running 10.8.5) this message appeares: Screen Shot 2014-10-01 at 20.21.37.png
    can anyone help?

    I was thinking about Deleting my Content and trying the install again. It would find the control programs on the Mac HD to acknowledge that it's an upgrade. I don't know... I'm kind of wanting to wait to hear from NI. I'm also wondering can I keep my pianos from the current NI libs like the Berlin, Vienna, and NY Concert Grands? They are in a lot of my projects. I don't see them mentioned anywhere in the Ultimate 10 documentation.

    Vlad, at least you got 10 up on your lap without incident. It may be a licensing issue with your 2nd installation. I remember I had a problem with it before when transferring to another machine.

    Hey BossLenz, does installer offer you an option to tick the older versions or software in the package as an option to 'downgrade' as they refer to it? or in other words not to upgrade them as you install the ultimate? I think all the old content should be there and will be there after you install the upgrade, well provided that you manage to install...

    Not at all. It just asks where do you want to install your libraries and gives you the option but I'll take a look because I really wasn't focusing on that all.

    I got my problem fixed. It seems the error occured when the installation tried to overwrite some content. So I deselected the content and just installed the other things, that was without error. Than I activated it via the service center and updated all component. Seems all is working and fine now

    Nice!

    I called Tech support and got in touch with a technician who asked me to take a dump of my system which I did. When I looked at the dump results, I think it had more to do with the control programs as opposed to the content. I'm waiting for a response but that sounds like a good idea. I've been doing Komplete I think from Version 6 and upgrading ever since so I think there's probably a lot of garbage.

    Since I'm at work, I'll wait to hear from NI but I think I want to try your approach. It is very slick. ;~)

    Chris, thanks so much. I got it installed just as you said but now I'm trying to install the Kontakt Content to pick up the stuff from 9 since I was coming from Ultimate 8. Got Battery 4 done. It keeps failing on loading the Kontakt Content. For now, I'll bypass it. Let me search and see if anyone has had any problem installing Kontakt Content. Once again, thanks.

    Got it all done last night! Forgot that I had to do this every time I upgraded. You have to exclude the stuff already installed otherwise the install will fail. That goes for the programs as well as the Content. Always expand the trees and compare it against what you have already installed and eliminate it from the install. You can run the installs multiple times until you get it right. Chris Ghost was a big help. Still haven't heard from NI.

    Same problem. Installation failed during installation of CD G.
    Thanks to you for the possible solution. I 'll try to eliminate what's already installed.
    This is so strange that NI don't tell about this !
    I 'll tell you tomorrow if I succeed.

    I'm doing a clean install of Komplete 10 Ultimate, as I'm a new NI customer recently.

    The install is also going poorly, to a brand new samsung 850 pro, in a brand new macbook pro.
    I'm splitting the install with the software on the main SSD, and the content on another, larger, SSD.

    I've tried installing several times now, and the progress line stalls completely about 2/3thru. I've forced quit when this happens, and tried to start it back up, but the exact same result. I'm beginning to get frustrated with NI, and I only just bought all these things. (Maschine Studio, almost all Maschine Expansions,, Komplete 10 Ultimate, Komplete Kontrol S61.

    I've spent 9 hours today installing Maschine studio, and komplete 10 ultimate. It seems every new install is an absolute ordeal.

    What I finally remembered from the last install of Ultimate 8 was that you have to be selective on your install. You can't continually reinstall everything. On one of the first screens, you have to expand it to determine exactly what you're installing. Through a process of elimination you can determine what module you're having problems with
