12.000.136.523.776 bytes is 10.9 TB (1024) and is 12 TB (1000). TB (1000) gives values 10% over TB (1024). That is not crazy, that is pure math.

to somebody who buys a 12 TB HDD and sees it as 10.9 TB it might be
The point is that difference between the size in bytes and actual size is eventually becoming more and more the bigger the size gets
it is indeed just math but it also makes consumers think that they are getting ripped off (Specially in the case with ISP's that have data limits)
and just all that because calculating on 1000 is easier than calculating on 1024

Well, calculating 1000 gives bigger numbers. Bigger number more money. It is dichotomy introduced by HDD/SDD, ..... marketing gurus.... 1024 would work just fine....

Hey guys, well I think I'll let you slug it out with the figures.

All I know is there is a 4 (ish) GB difference between StradCello in NA and in website documentation. No matter what calculations have gone on behind the scenes it would be prudent for those with a data cap to assume it's the higher figure. You also have to factor in what your computer uploads in the process. Minimal but it all adds up. Then there's another factor - how the server you're pulling the iso off (if the case may be) calculates their size.

Dj Ravix, yes about the figures in Windows properties/computer management etc. Ive seen the figures differ within Windows and within Mac and I think are confusing. However nothing would surprise me when it comes to marketing strategies.

    well I Finally got something
f0ec2a5d-bf70-4deb-8a77-e811fa151f47.iso is the actual filename of "Alicia's Keys" on the HDD
the only issue I run into now is the "medium.nmd" file
Unfortunately when trying to edit this NA stopped detecting the HDD
Even a simple opening in notepad and just saving it results in this behavior (And yes I made a backup before doing this)
this unfortunately is the only thing stopping people from being able to update the drive
the content can be add properly with the correct names but the "medium.nmd" can not be updated to have the content with the drive still being detected
we would probably need a specific editing tool for this to eventually work
Adding the "medium.nmd" of an K13U drive might be the only solution to turn my K13 drive into a K13U drive

I eventually find a way to edit the file
However when you try to add stuff it ether breaks or does not show whats been add
However ... the funny part ... When Changing a Product into another... this is something you just got to see this

Proof of concept NA HDD UPgrade 002.jpg

BTW is it wrong for me to Ask over here if anybody could Provide me with the "medium.nmd" of A K13S, K13U or K13UCE HDD to see what the differences are between those versions of there "medium.nmd" file
it seems to me that this is a bit of a Gray area ...
But just to be sure since this would be the best place to ask
(And just to be Sure only the "medium.nmd" from the drive as sharing any content of the data Folder Would indeed be a violation of the EULA)

I Currently got an answer from NI Support on if this would be a violation
I actually received the following response:
"We would not consider it a violation. If there is a user that is happy to send you this file, that's OK with us."
So if there is anybody that has A Komplete 13 Select / Komplete 13 Ultimate / Komplete 13 Ultimate Collector's Edition HDD
and is willing to provide me With A copy of the "medium.nmd" of there drive
than feel free to let me know
