<AFAICT, this is not possible. My apologies if I am incorrect>

    Hi NI,

I never use the pitch bend strip; it is completely wasted for me. 99% of my music uses orchestral libraries and pitch bending a trumpet is just not how I write. I DO however use other CC's; Spitfire's BBC orchestra for example uses 3 CC's for live playing. And the pitch bend strip is beautifully close to the mod strip; if I could be using that as the same time as the mod strip, the playability of the keyboard (S61 mk1) would make a material jump.

Please add some kind of setting into the KK software to let me assign the pitch bend strip (without spring action, please) to any other CC so that it acts like the mod wheel. While you're at it, you could generalize both strips to be assignable.

    Thank you!

In BBC, the mod strip is already mapped to dynamics and I remapped (in controller editor) the pitch bend strip to work like the mod strip to control expression. I think this is what you are after?

Go into controller editor and click pitch strip (CC 2) and change the setting on the right panel to match CC 1 (mod strip) but change both channel/number to 2.

In this matter, the MK1 is in fact more versatile than the MK2 with the traditional pitch bend wheel..

Now you are good to go. You may have to reboot keyboard...can't remember!

Now in BBC Orchestra, right click the expression slider virtual knob and click "Learn MIDI CC# automation". Slide the newly mapped expression strip on the keyboard and you are good to go. Side by side touch sliders to match BBC Orchestra setup. It's sweet.

BRILLIANT! Thank you! I apologize for being a bonehead, I forgot that the keyboard was editable via the controller editing software. Perfect!

The only problem is, when you're not in Midi Mode, you can't change the pitch bend to cc unfortunately.

True but you can map expression to the mod strip (MK1)/Wheel (MK2) without having to go into midi mode so that it is controllable together with the dynamics if that floats your boat. Just right click expression and midi learn to your mod.

My request going on a few years now,is the same as before, a Multi-timbral work flow, the option to layer a couple synths, where we can save these patches and recall them with ease, not having to rely on a particular daws settings for this.

It probably won't happen, because after all if it's not a new expansion NI doesn't seem to want to have anything to do with it.. Here we are about 7 years into KK now and still can't even layer a piano and string and save it as a Multi.. Great Job NI, you continue to suck the life out of me everytime I use this software.

Considering the number of posts you have made, I imagine that you already know that you can save multi's (NKM format) when you put KK into edit mode and so I was wondering what you mean when you say "can't even layer a piano and string and save it as a Multi.. "? You must mean something else that is unclear to me and I am wondering what. Could you elaborate?

Could you direct me how to "put KK into edit mode" so that I can load multiple VSTs inside one KK instance please? I can only load 1 VST and then FX plugins after that :(

You can't, he is probably referring to using Kontakt within KK which of course you can load multiple layers within if you want, but KK is/was not designed to handle layers, more as a sound browser with instant mapping. You could always look at using Maschine instead which can load up multiple instruments in a single instance and loads in as a VST into a DAW. Tho most DAWs assign processors on a track-by-track basis so what you may gain in less tracks you lose in efficiency on your processor when the project becomes larger.

Did you get yourself sorted on putting KK into edit (Kontakt) mode?

Thanks for checking MyStudioOne - sorry for the delay - I figured out how to use the Komplete Kontrol app to edit MIDI Assignment templates - yes! :)

Just stuck with not being able to assign the Pedal and TouchStrips to different MIDI channels on a per-template basis now :-/ Filed here: #935
