Ray, get out a magic marker and add this to your immediate road map. I just lost a morning's work because of this, and it needs to be added ASAP.

The only reason that I can see for deleting rather than saving the downloaded file is some kind of "control issue" where NI does not want the files to be saved by the users for re-install. Additing the "feature" to save rather than delete should be trivial and in the next update ... not on roadmap is not a good excuse.

There is a work around as mentioned above, but it is just inconvenient to "catch" the file. Another work around is to make the final .zip file read only (after the download, while it is installing). So there really is no reason to prevent the save. It just frustrates your customers.

The fact that the downloads take forever and often need many retries to get them makes the save option even more important.

I too need this feature in NA as well. I cannot download a product again and again at times of re-installing due to internet data limitations. And we are speaking about 20+ GB.

    What everybody already said.

    Another very disappointed customer here.

I cannot stop using Service Center because Steven Slate 3.5EX library is not managed by Native Access, nor is offline activation and, most important, keeping the update files available for archival, backup etc..
I have two workstations to keep up to date and cannot even think of having to redownload everything for each one, especially if I have to wipe and reinstall from scratch (dozens of Native Instruments Gigabytes...)

On the other hand, only Native Access is currently able to detect and apply two updates to Kontakt Factory and Selection Library, Service Center is not.

So, currently Native Access offers loss of functionality and a worse user experience, for me at least.
But Service Center doesn't seem to include all available updates.
Please consider seriously to address these points asap:

    1) Option to access downloaded files to repeat or transfer updates/installs to other PCs
    2) Continue having Service Center support new products and updates.

As of now, I feel like I am halfway an unpleasant path.

    Thanks,
    Mario

I have taken the following route:
I have installed Native Access on my PC at work.
    I log on
    Select the product.
    Click Install.
It starts downloading in the specified download folder : it creates a .toc file and a folder for downloading.
It downloads around 10MB chunk as .part files, once it completes downloading all the parts it combines them into an .iso.
Then it starts installing. After installation it deletes the original downloaded .iso file.

Here when it continues the installation I simply make a copy of that .iso [^C ^V]
Then I delete the original as I don't need the installation on my work PC.

But I have to sit and keep a constant watch when the part have been downloaded and installation in progress.

*** Why don't you keep the earlier Service Centre and then implement Native Access when it is ready to cater the requirement? **
    Regards

UPDATE : we can download the product without installing.
Go to NI's website and log in to your account.
Your products are listed there with the option to download them.

Newer products (normally installed/updated via Native Access) come with a "Downloader.exe" to download the instrument in a second step.
The "Downloader.exe" provides "Download" (only) and "Download and Install".

    thank´s alot for that hint!
unfortunately, the komplete 11 update is only accessible via native access.
if this will not be fixed, komplete11 was my last NI purchase!

I do hope that NA can eventually update the installers on the Komplete hard disk. It would be cool if I could add installers for other products as well... as long as you have the space for them.

    I have to say I'm a +1 on this.

I've been screwing around with Native Access for 24 hours now, and I'm still hours away from having everything working, and only on one computer! I have 24 Mbps service, and I haven't seen such slow download speeds since I was using Prodigy with a dialup line back in the early 1990s.

As if the slow downloads weren't bad enough, I'm having trouble with two instruments (so far) not showing up in Kontakt, and I don't even need to install all of the K11U instruments.

And to make up for all this, Native Access will make me DOWNLOAD EVERYTHING ALL OVER AGAIN for my laptop installation? This is unacceptable, and I simply won't play this game again for K12.

I'm even starting to question whether or not this upgrade was worth $199. My time is certainly worth much more than the discount I got. I think I should have held out for $99. That is, to be PAID $99 to accept these inconveniences.

    + 1

Long time NI user here, but...
this is so annoying and very frustrating, re-dowloading individual stuff from Komplete 11 seems impossible, or I just can´t find a way to do this, ridiculous how much time I spent trying to find out (via Native Access once it has been installed before, and for whatever reason needs to be installed again), really such a pain in the ass.
I need to re-download Reaktor "Form" but I can´t do that anymore, deleted everything that belonged to Form ensemble, but Native Access still gives me info that it is installed. Instead of using my new purchased software and make some music I am wasting my time to find out how to download it again. Can´t believe this..., sooner or later there should be many users that (will) face similar problems.

Edit: Solved this by downloading Form.ens on a different computer, making a copy of .iso file before installation is finished, then on USB to my main computer and install. There has to be a different way to do this in the future...

Until NI adresses this issue, on OS X/macOS you can work around the problem by installing the freeware program "Disk Arbitrator" (https://github.com/aburgh/Disk-Arbitrator). By default, this will prevent mounting of disk images, causing Native Access to fail the installation process. Then you can copy / install the images at your leisure. I already tested this on several packages from Komplete 11 on 10.11.6.

Thanks@steffko for that link, haven´t tried "Disk Arbitrator" and I hope I´ll never have to.
Instead, I am sure NI will adress this soon with a Native Access update.

Support told me to delete the following and re-install:
    Macintosh HD > Library > Preferences > com.native-instruments.*Product Name*.plist

No matter if this will help you or not (didn´t for me), this can´t be a serious way to help users to solve similar issues.
I am really surprised NI didn´t consider this from the beginning on, when they created Native Access, make stuff
available for download again if needed for whatever reason, possibility to save software/libraries as .dmg.

Really makes me think about the relationship between NI and their users.
But update is coming, so it seems they woke up....:cool:

This is only possible if you have purchased individual products.
As a Komplete owner it is only possible to download Komplete products with Native Access, it is
not possible through your NI account/downloads.
