Thanks aniline, but this does not solve my problem. You may read about it again
    on the previous page.

I did not have a "install button" to download it again in Native Access, so I was not
able to "force quit" and do the text editor stuff and so on. I found a different solution
    I described earlier.

The workaround for the more technically savvy users your link offers speaks for itself.
Honestly, this is supposed to and be a user friendly solution for anyone wanting to save
    your downloaded files?
If you have to go over this kind of procedure for every download you want to have,
either for backups or just re-download stuff..., this is like middle age technology, Ni
should just give us an easy way to do this soon.

I actually shared this link only for an alternative option till the request has been implemented. Not for your issue. Yes, doing this for each download will be tiresome. But atleast I'm able to save the downloads for backup and download accelerator program has resume feature and downloads 5 segments of a file with 5 connections. So it's faster and resumes download in case of network failure or computer restart.

Your problem seems to be different. Though this feature could help in future for such kind of issues.

Alternatively you could also post your issue in a thread related to uninstalling issues stating that uninstaller should remove all the details related the product unstalled so NA can re-install or download.

Anyways this feature is very important.

Yes, your link is very helpful for now.
Thanks for advice and help, I´ll check other threads, if I have time and patience.
For now I am trying to avoid to spend too much time on minor things, saves energy for
the more important stuff..., like making music ;)
Scratching my head why NI don´t get it, they are smart people lol.

It is inexcusable that a software company as big as Native Instruments is publishing knowledge base articles instructing users to kill processes and hack XML files. Even more inexcusable considering Service Center actually had this functionality to begin with, and they took it away in Native Access.

For saving NI downloads on Mac, try this: https://www.native-instruments.com/...your-downloaded-iso-files-updates-mac.314112/

My solution doesn't require force quitting, digging into the text files to manually rename files or manual installation. Just follow the steps to setup, hit download, then paste in the command to batch-process (rename) all the downloaded files once they've finished. When the downloads are finished and renamed, hit "Install All" and Native Access will oblige, but will not be allowed to delete your gigabytes of .iso and .dmg files.

Once initially setup, it's just a matter of keeping the main command (at step 8) on hand for each time you download new software or updates.

Uninstall Native Access and reinstall the latest version but refuse to install the cd emulator when it pops up.

My Maschine is hooked up to a WinXP system and since I cannot use Native Access on that system I decided to install in on my Win7 system just to get the freebee's they e-mail me with serials for them. But my experience was a little different. During the installation of Native Access a second installation popped up about some cd emulator or something and because I was unsure of what it was I canceled it and didn't let it install, That caused Native Access to stop responding before the % downloaded reached 100%. Windows asked to look for a solution or close. I closed Native Access and reopened and the file I had downloaded said "Not Installed" but the iso file was in the directory I had point it to. I then opened the app and did another and the same thing, got the iso and "not installed" after it closed and reopened.
I was a little concerned at first since I was not watching the downloads and it seemed that they were not reaching 100% and I was not sure why (figured later the % download indicator was for both down and install). Worried that the file didn't complete I opened it with 7zip and it tested as "no errors". Still I downloaded the latest access (1.5.1) uninstalled the previous, and this time without thinking I installed the emulator and there it was, it deleted my iso. So I uninstalled, reinstalled with no emulator and re-downloaded the iso. So for Windows users at least just refuse to install the emulator and though you have to close and reopen the app for each download, but you get to keep your iso files without watching.

Excellent. NA is the first program in which useful functionality appears because of bug.

In case of updates deletion of installer can be prevented by keeping updated program running when updating.
Then update fails saying program is already running and installer is available in download folder.
