As opposed to SHIFT and pad whatever it is?

I would much prefer a more interesting and additional use for the SNAP button (such as the suggestions for it to be a scene creator from the currently playing patterns) and AUTO WRITE already has a function. I see the connection between SNAP and quantization but it's already pretty easily available.
    Just my opinion.

the key is to simplify things not make them more difficult, "not saying that that is the case here but that is the key! sounds good to i was thinking more on the lines of buttons that are priority an used consistently but are secondary.

I think quantize is pretty firmly set as being the SHIFT + padwhatever though, as it's labelled on the hardware even.

I appreciate that simplicity is the key and I've even said such things myself when people have suggested wildly complicated new additions/changes but I think the current method is simple enough. Just my opinion.

Imho, Snap is crying out to be used as SNAPshot.

Write all the current status of sounds/groups mutes and the currently playing patterns to a new scene.

Exactly what I want and have suggested. It really does seem to be crying out for it. And I'm crying out for it too! It really surprised me when there was actually a button on the controller without a primary function!
