With many clubs shut down in large parts of the world, a lot of people are streaming their sets, and I thought it might be good to collect the things it made us wish we had when we did that. I'll start:

    1. a text or video feed (transparent for overlays) of the tracks we're playing. it would be great if there were several modes of determining which track was "the current one" - in a video feed you could just display all of them at the same time of course, but for a text feed i could see something like "display whichever track currently has the highest combined bass+mids+treble times deck volume", or "display new tracks on play", or "display new track when it reaches fade-in cue point", manual mode with assignable actions to display any deck's current track, etc.. lots of possibilities!

    2. Extended sync output for visualization. This could be a beats and bars midi feed that could be a little more intricate than just the tempo (like with different notes or volumes for different beat subdivisions), or based on beat detection so that it could follow breakbeats. It could be a waveform video out, or color output stream based on spectrum content, energy level based on spectrum and longer-term volume analysis, melody midi streams from fft analysis, etc. These are all things that already happen in the background, or in small areas of the screen, and could be exposed in a way that could instantly drive a light system or a visualizer, or, hell, a shadertoy.

    3. Make it possible to use different sound cards for master and monitor. This helps immensely with cutting down on complexity in streaming setups.

    Now you! :)

Why not build or better yet support equipment that can already support plugging you smart devices to stream the audio while making the live feed video?

I think that somewhere to start.

Traktor is still long to that (being TP3 fused into TDJ2) but maybe as companion app could have some potential. They key is how accesible is all those data from the app itself to output into another (or max, VVVV or similar...)
