feedback from all beta users and testers

Instead of global modifiers I would prefer allowing to mix keyboard, midi and hid mappings inside one logical controller. If possible allowing to include logical controllers inside others.

However if that is not possible I am also +1 on global modifiers.

 

Yeah I think the notion of having a set of 'includes' to define a logical controller would be way cool.

On your first point though, I get the idea of pulling assigments from different controllers together into a single map file, but really all you need to do that right now is not having split modifier domains right?

 

+1 to glodal modifiers, not really sure how that was left out - obviously the new logical controllers do break old mappings but to do it in a way that can't be mended is slightly mystifying. Apart from that though - mappings are a lot easier! Just need a bigger prefs window please!

Ah, finally PhiL gets bitten by the whole NI mentality of fixing that which is not broken. Now you know how it feels to be me. I'm STILL waiting for something close to the Master/Slave functionality that existed in 3.4 (a.k.a. the version of Traktor that I'm still using).

Maybe if you're lucky, NI will decide to put that functionality in Traktor Pro 1.6 or 2.2...

Im trying so desprately to embrass this beta (and all of TP incarnations for that matter) in a positive way...but....I gotta say (after installing this Beta).....im not even close to concidering TP to be anything more than a complete mind f**K.

Well, I just mapped my Nocturn from scratch for Advanced FX and Filters and my Nanopad for Chained FX (Beatslicer+Beatslicer+Mul Drive = sickness!) pretty quickly. Some issues I was having with LED output with the last version appear to have been solved. The MIDI assignments page is a lot better, I like the way you can Import and Export each logical device as well.

 

can U post your Nocturn's TSI ?

 

Yeah mate I can do, perhaps tomorrow when I get a minute. It is nothing fancy, just the filters on one page (for 2 decks) and Advanced FX for FX panels 1&2. I'm using 1&3 for deck A and 2&4 for deck B, and I'm macro mapping 3&4 on the X/Y from my Nanopad so I have easy control over set FX chains.

I did originally have a much more complicated mapping for the Nocturn in which you could switch from Advanced to Chain etc, but it was a bit confusing and I could never get the LEDs to behave properly.
