I was hoping someone might be able to provide some additional explanation into the file loading process and the warnings regarding ID3 tags.

My question is specific to the warning that states tags cannot be read from specific files. I understand that WAV files don't support ID3 tags and so this should generate a warning. However, some of my WAV files appear to load fine in Traktor and others display the warning. So why would this be?

I have tested files that are in the same folder. None of them are marked as read only. This is Windows XP so there shouldn't be any ownership permission issues. I feel there must be some explanation as to why one file receives the big red flashing warning error, and the other ones do not.

    Anyone have thoughts on this?

    Thanks!

This is a platform independent bug and it seems that it is related to some specific WAV files. Traktor is throwing this error for the same file under XP, Vista and OS X.

In general Traktor is able to write tags into WAV files as well; here RIFF INFO chunks are used instead of ID3 tags.
