    Kontakt 5.6.6 (R16)
    macOS High Sierra 10.13

For some reason, Kontakt is not showing the full/correct path for files - it only lists two folders and doesn't list my hard drive / etc.

Has anyone had this problem before? Any suggestions? I've tried deleting preferences/reinstalling/etc

    Thanks !

Which options are checked in the View menu?

    show network drives
    show removable drives
    show foreign formats

and a locked quickjump which doesn't seem to actually be reflected in what the browser is showing ...

Hmmmm, well that definitely sounds strange... Might be related to High Sierra somehow (filesystem changes etc.)...

i've been having some other weirdly inexplicable problems so it's a definite possibility ...

I'm having the same issue. Can't use the File tab because the volume I need to view is not in it. No way to add it.

The Volume is the only APFS (High Sierra) volume I have, and my other HFS/EXFAT volumes do show up. There are also some folders from my APFS volume showing, just not the right ones.

Kind of amazing such an incompatibility can exist between a platform and one of it's world-class developers, let alone release versions merrily without preventing customers from hitting this issue. I mean, it's not like music makers use Macs or Kontakt.

APFS created a lot of issues for other developers, too (files unsorted alphabetically, etc.), so I'd suppose it's a matter of time for NI to support it. Until then, you're probably better off not using APFS at all if you can help it.

As far as I saw, APFS migration wasn't even an option during Sierra installation. It just happened silently. That was surprising, but I assumed it must mean it's fully backwards compatible. Hah.

"Fully backwards compatible" and "Apple" are usually not a part of the same sentence. :p

I can confirm on High Sierra that Kontakt (5.7.1) is not seeing any of my external SSD sample drives in the files directory either. Kontakt does see my two time machine backup disks (one of those is APFS formatted) and it sees my Raid5 data backup drive. Weird. However, the libraries DO load from the libraries tab and/or when clicked on from my SSDs. I guess my workaround will be to add every library to the quick load menu...o_O

Oh... and really - REALLY - slow load times from my SSDs. I've reinstalled Kontakt completely to no avail.

Edit/Update: Now that I have spent further time with it, the slow loads completely make High Sierra pretty unusable since I rely on disk streaming and regardless of buffer size, the disk meter stays in the red with slow/delayed/crackle/pop loads from a purged state.

I'm having the same problem here (High Sierra + Kontakt 5.7.1). The workspace only shows Desktop and Documents folders. My external APFS SSD isn't seen. The Windows network drivers are shown correctly though. Any solution yet?

P.S.: I've just found a workaround: since the folder ~/Documents is correctly shown, I created a symlink there pointing to my APFS SSD drive. I am able to navigate the drive at the workspace upper half window now, but I'm still waiting for a definite fix.

I'm thinking the issue is actually on Apple side with this one (mainly because of APFS). There are some known bugs in High Sierra that are related.

I've found this thread after searching for my problem online and ... well, I'm still rather stuck.

I'm on Windows 10, running Kontakt 5.6.1, and while the 'libraries' view can see the entire content of my audio drive, the 'files' view that I'm trying to find an nki file on, can only see a few of my folders.

Can anyone help?!? I bought a kontakt library recently and libraries can't find it, and searching files can't even look under the folders its installed in!

That is weird. Is it on a removable drive, perhaps? In Files tab in Kontakt, click View->Show removable drives, if it's not enabled.

That said, latest version is 5.8.0, so, perhaps update?

GUYS! I FIGURED IT OUT!... It's definitely a work around but if you create a shortcut to the folder of your libraries and place it in the drive that shows up you can use your libraries from externals!

    1).Create a shortcut of folder:
    1. Open the Finder, and then navigate to the folder you want to create an alias of.
    2. Select the folder by clicking on it once. ...
    3. From the File menu, select Make Alias, as shown below.
    4. The alias appears, as shown below.
    2) Paste folder shortcut anywhere in the drive that shows up in your kontakt player

    Voila... a work around. :)

Thanks I noticed this too, even after this time I think the issue is this a thing(?).

    Did they ever fix it?
