Treat each group like a piece of a band. Drums, Keys, Synths, Bass, Guitar.... etc.

Though I would rather a linear sequencer to do drops and stuff here and there but I grasping the concept.

Well here's a rock joint I did in maschine. Feedback is more to enjoy it.

For some reason I wasn't expecting this haha. Nice though man. This would be good to hear live :)

You didn't track the vocals in Maschine did you?

    Good job.

as far as i know NI needs to upgrade sequencing in maschine. its really time consuming to fine tune sounds. Also the mixing in maschine is not user friendly at all.I bought the mk2 because maschine was not worth the money when it came out.i bought maschine because its hardware with software.not hardware with an ok sequencer.if anyone uses reason you know that redrum by itself is more user friendly than maschines pattern programming

im not using maschine to master but i would like to fine tune my sounds easily.

    Hey Trakz! Loved the track!
I'm curious to know the role Maschine played in the production. Did you use it just for the drums? Recording guitars? Or did you do all recording in PT?

The reason I ask is that I'm kinda struggling to figure out how to effectively use Maschine for tracks that aren't loop/repetition-heavy. Anything you can share about the workflow you used would be awesome!

koushik - just make the patterns longer, or dare i say - less repeats per loop.

just because you are using a pattern sequencer doesn't mean you are locked into repetition man

have you even used redrum? each sound has its own separate channel with fine tune controls.volume, velocity, pitch, panning etc. all on one window.i dont have to navigate to actually work with a specific sound.i can program drums in redrum in half the time it takes in maschine.im not trying argue that reason is better...this is a maschine forum.i recently bought maschine for the interactive hardware and being able to play live with responsive pads when i need to.you exactly right that they cant be compared because maschine drum mixing flow is currently slow.editing sound clips in the sequencer also needs to be updated.there needs to be a navigate arrow, pencil, and eraser.this will making editing in the software fluid.i have only owned maschine for a week and the work flow is not as smooth as it can be.

i understand that maschine is still a young product and its pretty good so far but it can be a lot better.everyone ports their tracks into another DAW.i dont even understand why their isnt a visual mixer in maschine...that just doesnt make sense.unless i havent found it yet.
seriously if everyone that bought a maschine is gonna tell me that they dont want to use maschine as a primary DAW in the future than all you have said is that you bought a $600 midi controller that lights up.

Redrum has to be used while clicking around with a mouse while staring at a computer screen. That's why it can't really be compared to Maschine. And you're obviously already used to using Reason. Of course, you're going to find it slower trying to get used to a very different tool with an entirely different workflow that you only bought a week before. People who have used Maschine for a while and are very used to it already are not complaining that the workflow is not smooth.

It does have a navigate function, directly on the hardware, and not just arrows but zoom for scenes and patterns as well. Anyway, it's obvious you need to spend more than a week with Maschine before you can really say whether the software is "fluid" or not.

    Where's the facepalm smiley?

but it is a fact that maschine lacks a lot of things.
what saves this situation is that maschine software is still under development: there are still some bugs, basic features not implemented yet, interface is not solid, ...
despite all of this, you can still do good things with the actual unfinished (?) version.

It's a fact that DAWs lack a lot of things, like a dedicated hardware with the level of integration anywhere close to Maschine. You can find things that are lacking in anything if you look at it for what it's not.

Ah, but you're forgetting that one person's "basic features" (usually found on tools they're more used to working in particular ways) are the next person's superfluous, non-essential features.

everyone that has used maschine since it came out has chose to export their tracks out.so they have more xp than me and realized that maschine is not enough.. but thats just preference or mastering i guess but i either way...would you not rather have each knob and top button be channels for each pad(drum sound) in your group? (via hardware) instead of manually navigating to change the output for a specific sound each time.

im not saying that i want to use maschine primarily via software.i want to use the hardware more but it can definitely be easier.maschine is software interacting with hardware.it is not designed to be a midi controller
and the navigation controls that im talking about is actually drawing out the blocks in the sequencer.with a arrow and pencil and eraser it can make the software portion easier.you cant select a block with a knob.and if you didnt create the drums on the step sequencer than you have to look at the software to delete the block.
    ---
so what about having a visual mixer in maschine?i dont know how anyone can mix with one master meter that shows if that whole track is clipping or not.is there any way i can see if a specfic sound clipping without muting everything else?

then how would you do it? and also do you even use maschine by itself?do you have a link to your music so i can learn from the master? im not gonna argue with you on a forum.you obviously want to prove you know everything but yet you wont give useful information

actually dont even bother i dont need to waste more time on this.as entertaining as this is i have better things to do
