First impressions, couple questions

Hey everyone, I dove into the world of Traktor Pro for the first time today and have been enjoying myself thoroughly. It makes a world of difference coming from virtual DJ. I have a couple questions that are hopefully simple...
Running Traktor Pro version 2.0.1.

1) I'm using a Denon DNX600 Mixer with built in external sound card. I believe I have it set up right because the channels are properly separated and each channel plays through both of my 2 stereo speakers (cerwin vegas ). However... the crossfader on my mixer does not function at all. It did function in virtual DJ, so I imagine this is some setting that I need to configure. Attached are screenshots of the various mixer settings I currently have setup.

2) The fader for each channel is not a gradual increase... Say I have a track playing on Deck A, and all eq's are turned up, but the fader is all the way down. When I move it up, instead of a gradual increase in volume, it jumps from basically 0 % volume straight to 80% with the slightest movement, and that's before I've moved it up as high as it goes; the volume doesn't change much after that initial jump when the fader is at a low spot. The same thing happens with the right channel fader, so i'm not sure what the problem here is either. Sorry if that's confusing but it's kind of a confusing problem as I'm not sure how that would happen.

3) My mixer is MIDI capable and has a send/return button on the effects panel, and I was wondering what benefits those have, or what they even mean. What type of MIDI functions does an external mixer use? How does the send/return work? I basically don't know anything about these two functions in this situation.

I have a couple other minor questions, but these are my main concerns that I need to get figured out first. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So I figured out solutions to my first 2 questions. Figured I'd post them here for others to pick up on if they are in the same boat. My settings are fine in traktor... with the DNX600, it turns out there's two different knobs on the mixer that control the cross fader and the channel fader contour. Silly me... should have just looked harder from the beginning.

As for the midi/send return functions, I still haven't figured that out but haven't tried to hard, so i'll post back once I learn more about that. Do people use these forums often or am I wasting time talking to myself? Haha, thanks.
