First time trying to install MAudio Sustain pedal

I looked in the manual and I have followed all the instructions for installing my new M Audio SP-2 sustain pedal to input A. I followed all the instructions and then launched Alicia's Keys piano sounds. There is no sustain. None. I am running the Komplete software on a Dell laptop and I do not have a DAW running at all.

I have skimmed some other threads where people talk about how the sustain pedals works for a while but intermittently stops working. But I'm talking about getting it to work for the first time.

Please help. A main reason I bought this setup was to get access to high end piano samples and a piano without a sustain pedal is nothing good.

The SP-2 has a polarity switch - did you try that? There are also different ways of wirimg the jack's tip/ring/sleeve out there. KK has some options to adapt to those in its MIDI config - did you look there?

With some keyboards there used to be that trick to hold the pedal while powering them up. Dunno if that would work with the KK series.

Thanks, but yes, I tried the polarity switch in both positions, both resulted in no sustain at all. And I set all the tip/ring parameters exactly as indicated in the manual.

Check that you are set to cc#64 and you might want to try invert as well. As you can see by my screenshot, my pedal requires this and I don't think I read it anywhere. Screenshot below...
