I guess you took offense to what I said for some reason. I still disagree from what you described that it's the same issue. It's not about browsing in general or crashes in general or saving. It is about an issue that happens when using prehear or sample slice auditioning which uses the same audio bus. Just because an issue sounds somewhat similar to yours does not mean it is the same bug. Also not every crash scenario is necessarily a bug in the Maschine software.

I can also assure you from testing the software that even when there is a crash from a bug in Maschine, even if it was say when using the browser, it is not necessarily related to another crash using the browser.

OK, just bought Halcyon Sky. Loading samples (not in prehear mode) causes CPU spike and my audio goes offline. Seriously, this is a considerable bug. I can load audio files as long as my arm continuously all day long in Ableton Live (even off an external drive) without issue but Maschine throws a fit. I literally cannot even load samples from the new Expansion I bought without having to reset my audio interface every other time. As far as I'm concerned this issue should be priority one for NI.

I wanted to ask if all the samples in an Expansion can be found as part of a kit in a Group? It seems Maschine 2+ has less an issue with loading a complete group of samples than loading individual samples. So a workaround might be to merely load and prehear samples via a Group.

*Edit. Nevermind, issue just happened loading a kit.

You hit it spot on.. I too want a "maschine lite" mode or plugin, without scenes and patterns. Pretty much battery 4 with a nice controller.

Interesting to see that the update seems to have solved my freeze during slicing/prehear issues... while I read people have way newer, advanced systems still have all these issues.

So many forces at stake, factors too consider.

The quick and simple fix would be to add some kind of buffer to the audio sample load. Though I did hear it was a CPU leak of some sort. Really, don't know how 2.0, 2.0.2, 2.0.5 gets the pass when it's obvious that loading samples causes a ridiculous CPU spike. None of my DAWs or audio programs do this. I mean...Shouldn't loading up a CPU heavy synth like Monark tax the system more than a 1 sec audio file at 44.1K 24-Bit? I can barely use Halcyon Sky because my audio card goes offline every other sample load due to these massive CPU spikes. Maschine is becoming a doorstop for all the use I get out of it. Seriously I'd rather have spent less money and have something like Arturia Spark so I can actually do drums with a hardware controller stably.

NI needs to fix this issue, like yesterday, and/or create a lite version for use in DAWs so I can at least hear the bloody samples I paid NI for.

I think you have a unique issue. My samples load instantly

So do mine, more or less. My issue is not that I have to wait for samples to load. My issue is that loading samples causes an unnecessary and considerable CPU hit which in my case offlines my audio interface. This wasn't an issue with 1.8.2. I have no issues loading up CPU heavy synths in Maschine software. Even taking into account some samples are loaded with internal FX plugins I don't see why they should be more CPU intensive upon load or prehear than let's say loading up Massive with a preset. For that matter Ableton Live has a prehear feature as well and that's never caused an issue for me. I'd actually prefer to wait an extra couple seconds if it meant a far less hit to my CPU. Worth mentioning that I do have a 7200RPM internal drive so seek times should be pretty good.

At any rate it's a known issue and it hasn't been addressed in any update as of yet.

I quickly want to thank everyone for contributing to this thread. This problem is driving me crazy, and I wasn't exactly sure what the point of failure was in my system.

    I am on a Macbook Pro 7,1 /w core2duo :(

I just wanted to add that I originally I thought it was an issue with my Seagate Momentus XT SSD/Hybrid Hard Drive. There is a lot of internet chatter about these hard drives causing audio dropouts in DAW environments and/or streaming audio. I wish I would have read this thread before I ordered a regular SATA drive - WHOOPS :(

I really look forward to this getting fixed, I love using version 2 software otherwise.

Hmm I actually have the same HDD. didn't think this could be the culprit. It would be a strange turn of events if everyone else with the problem is running a hybrid drive lol.

I might try this tonight too actually, I'll put the old HDD back in the laptop and see what happens.

I don't think it's a seek time error. I can load all kinds of samples into my DAW on either my internal or external drives without issue. There is an issue with the coding of Maschine 2+.

After trying a standard HDD and having no luck I think you're right!

Ok so I put a normal 5400rpm hdd in my laptop, put a new install of Mavericks / Maschine 2.0 on there and same issue. So I don't think the hybrid drive is the problem.

I've got still the same problem, also after updating maschine 2 software... When i'm scrolling the browsersamples too fast in prehear mode, the system begins to freeze... In maschine 1 software I can scroll as fast as I want without any problems. Now, when I disconnect my Traktor Audio 6 Interface and reconnect it after that, the system works until the next freezing issue appears...

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE - WE NEED A NEW UPDATE THAT WILL FIX THE PROBLEM

I had the problem too that Maschine 2.0 froze when scrolling through prehear mode. This happend every 10 minutes so I gave up on it. The other problem I still had in 2.0.5 was the first note velocity issue. I was then on Live 8. My system is a 2013 iMac with i7 quad core and 16 Gb of Ram. I was frustrated and open to test all options. I then made the update from Live 8 to recent Live 9. The velocity bug was gone and since then my Maschine 2 did not freeze. I know it sounds weird but its true. It can`t be that just Maschine 2 is the problem, I believe it is more of a combination of used software that causes it.

Audio now freezing since update with Focusrite Scarlett 212

If Native Instruments dont do something quickly i think they will have a lot of unhappy customers.

I for one spent a fortune with NI in the last six months. Im sure lots of others here have too:angry:

I haven't used my brand new Maschine Mikro 2.0 and latest Komplete bundle, which I paid good money for, in a month because I can't work for more than ten minutes without having to reboot my computer. Meanwhile, no communication from Native Instruments about any kind of fix, or any sort of apology. I am a very unhappy camper.
