So, audio 2 and traktor le were working fine. I could play a song in deck a and it would output to channel A on audio 2 and then to speakers, and play another on deck b and it would output just to channel b on audio 2 and then speakers. Great!

My laptop got infected with a virus. I wiped the hard drive, reinstalled win 7 home, and then audio 2 and traktor LE II and it doesn't work. When I throw a song onto traktor LE deck A I hear it on channel A of audio 2 and so the speakers. When I put another song on deck B, choose headphones and play I hear the deck B song via the headphones on channel B of the audio 2 device, BUT I hear both deck A and B songs on channel A through the speakers.

    How do I fix this?

Check your audio output routing in preferences.
Looks like you were using Traktor in External Mode (and now it's set to Internal Mode)

If this doesn't fix the problem, please post a screenshot of your audio settings.

I switched to external mode and it works. It does seem as if installing the software/hardware has created another problem, though. Before I used to be able to connect the audio 2, open itunes and then play the playlist directly from itunes, using the traktor le software only to monitor, that is to listen to a song separately if someone requests something. Now it does not happen automatically. I must go into control panel and sound and choose the tractor 2 as the default before I can do that. In fact I can reproduce this issue with another set of devices.
Before installing audio 2 /traktor LE II the second time I have been using a usb wireless set of headphones. So if I was playing a song using itunes I could just plug in the wireless headphones and the system would automatically switch from speakers to the headphones. It would recognize the new option and switch. After I installed audio 2/traktor LE II, this does not happen. I have to go in and choose the wireless headphones as a default.
I uninstalled audio 2 and traktor LE II, and that dis not fix the problem with my wireless headphones and laptop speakers switching automatically. I reinstalled audio2/traktor LE II and te problem still remains.
So, to me it looks as if installing audio2/traktor LE II made some sort of change to my pc settings with regard to usb devices. Any idea what that can be?

(The reason I use the itunes and traktor LE II setup is because playing songs to speakers via traktor LE II sometimes has resulted in skipping etc, however traktor LE II is ok just for seeing how appropriate a song is to play.)

Since you did a reinstall. Could it be that you had some sort of specific software installed with the drivers for your laptop's internal soundcard, which managed the audio connection when using headphones?

You might also find something useful when you google for 'windows 7 exclusive audio'.

Well, the wireless usb headphones were working fine, even after the resinstall of software, switching automatically between the laptop speaker and headphones. It only stopped when traktor LE II/audio 2 software was reinstalled. I'll look into windows 7 as you suggest.
