FL Studio stopped loading Komplete plugin presets in project files

I recently opened a few of my FL Studio project .zip files and for some reason, it will load the Komplete plugin and all of the note data, but the presets were not saved so it basically loads a blank plugin. This only affects some of my tracks, so I have to go back and pick all of the sounds again (some of which I do not remember). Is there any way to fix this, or has anyone else had this problem? They used to load properly before.

The only potential cause I can think of is recently I upgraded my system to SSD harddrives and I re-installed the Komplete bundle. However, this only affects a few of my tracks and not all of them so this doesn't seem like the true cause (or I think it would affect all of my projects). I am also able to load projects from over a year ago and all of the presets load fine. I think they may have saved incorrectly somewhere down the line, but it is odd because at some point I had opened these projects at various times and the sounds were there. It is only until recently that I am having this issue with a few project files.

    • Which Komplete plugins (and which version number) exactly have this problem?
    • Did you use default presets or your own user presets? And in the last case did you copy your user presets also to the new SSD?
    • Did you re-install the same program version of the application/plugins (which you used in your FLStudio projects before)?
    • Or did you install a different (or updated to a newer) version number of the application, plugin, etc. ?

If you haven't already you can also contact NI support about this directly: http://www.native-instruments.com/en/company/contact-ni/

Since the plugins do not load I can't tell which ones they were originally. The odd thing is, the same plugins (or instruments) load fine with certain FL Studio .zip files and only a few of the zip files have this issue. So, I am pretty sure the plugins or instruments are not the issue. It seems like maybe the save file was corrupted or somehow they did not save the preset data properly at the time. That's the only thing that makes sense at this point.

When I re-installed, it was the same version but all of the plugins were moved to a new harddrive. However, if the installation were the issue then all of my project files would not be loading correctly since it would affect every FL Studio .zip file I own. I've only experienced this on about 3 or 4 projects so far (out of dozens).

What I am doing now is naming the plugins like this:

07 MTOWN GLISSANDO SUSTAINACCENT G#m - BRIDGE STRINGS LEFT

So that in the future if they do not load, I will at least know which plugin to pick and what key they were in. I am also using "Save Preset As" to save the presets in an INSTRUMENTS folder for each project, so that I can simply re-load them easily if this happens again.

For the projects that were affected, it looks like I'll have to go back and figure out the key and instruments again. It will take some time but it is not impossible. Hopefully if anyone else has had this issue they can chime in.

    :(

    Yeah, very strange.
Might it be possible that the 'problem projects' were saved in a different or previous version number of FLStudio?

If you reinstalled Fl studio by any chance or reset to default settings, try adding the plugins so that they appear in the database again - (the add more plugins and select them)

Well, I did update FL studio but projects from over a year ago still load the plugins properly. The issue is not that the Komplete plugins don't load, it's that the presets inside of them don't load for certain projects. So they just come up as blank where you can select instruments, instead of loading the instruments I had set before. The good news is I still have all of the midi data, it's just a matter of selecting instruments. This is only really an issue for two tracks where I am not really sure what I picked, but I'll have to somehow figure it out. The lesson I learned is to record every instrument and info about them that is being used in each project just in case this happens again. Thanks for the help everyone!
