Fm8 FX changes output?

I just have audio routed though it but its much different sounding, not really a bad thing considering what fm8 is about to do to it but i would like to know if i can fix this?

 

Also i tried to add an output of a clean sine to the FX version of fm8 but there is this hi end metalic sound to it when its compressed. tho idk if i hear it when the bass is playing with the synth input i do hear it on the attack. its not pleasant.
