FM8 is not importing my FM7 presets...

FM8 (PC Version) does not appear to be importing my FM7 presets. I've tried several times to import single presets using the method described in the manual but nothing happens. I've tried using the search function to locate the imported preset in the database, but it returns zero results. Has anyone else experienced this problem. It's really causing me headaches. Hopefully, I'm doing something wrong and this isn't a bug.

 

I can't get it to work on single presets either. I'll see it gets reported.

You should find your imported presets in the My Sounds/Converted folder when pressing browser and chosing sounds. Anyway, as ewistrand stated it currently seems to work on bank-files only, since I had problems importing single sounds as well, even so it worked fine while creating the factory set...

 

Thanks for the help guys! Yea, it seems to work fine on bank files. Unfortunately, I store presets for my songs as singles. Oh well, I guess I'll have to re-install FM7.

btw: While I understand that bugs are the nature of the beast, I really wish software vendors would do more testing before releasing software that does not deliver on it's promises.

I agree. I have Mac Intel, and cannot install FM7. None of the single FM7 presets which I painstakingly saved from FM7 will import at all. NI please hurry and sort this one out.

 

In the same area...

The manual in "4.12.4. Loading FM7 Sounds" advises it is possible to import .f7c files. This is missing from the recognised file import options.
