It would be awesome if NI set up a user library page for FM8 like they have for Absynth and Kontakt. FM8 owners could submit preset patches.
    What do you think?

    Oh YES!!

    I agree.
If users have patches to share, let's do it right here.
There is a forum for FM7 at yahoogroups, so if NI is too slow in setting this up, I'm sure that FM8 patches could be uploaded there.

    Regards - Colin

    Markus,

Before you spend money, have you been to the files area at the FM7 group at Yahoo?
    http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/FM7/files/Sounds/
(You have to be registered but it's free)

There's a *LOT* of stuff there.
Remember that all old DX7 sounds can be magically transformed by FM7/FM8 by just increasing stereo width, adding reverb/chorus/etc

    Hope this helps - Colin

While you're all waiting for NI to come up with the goods on this one, some of you may be interested to know that...

    www.patcharena.com

is live and kicking again :)

For those that don't know, the original site was destroyed by hackers for no logical reason and has been down for some time. The new site owner has managed to recover the database so most of the original patches are available. There are a good number of FM7 patches, some from quite well known programmers inc Tim Conrardy and Summa ;) to download, which can obviously also be imported into FM8. :)
