Solved Form Preset Menu

Hi,

I just purchased Form for Reaktor and wanted to know what the deal is with the preset menu.
I know that I can choose presets from left preset column.
But why can't I choose them from the other preset menu like the other Reaktor libraries?
Am I missing something here?

a year a go I update to Form 1.1 presets converted to snapshots.
First one was from 2016 in September; 840 people downloaded it so you can use them also
handling snapshots is easy

 

So is this a bug or intentional design???

In Reaktor 6.2.1 it's no bug. Works fine here on pc.

 

I'm running the latest (6.2.1).
So this is intentional design then? No presets in the Snapshot browser?

 

Click in the EDIT field and it becomes white.
Then it will be work fine.
Or are you in Reaktor Player? I never own R-Player and can't answer.

Hit that little "list" icon. Upper left, under the first R in REAKTOR.

 

I'm talking about selecting the presets from the Snapshot menu. Like you can with Kontour.

 

If you have the full Reaktor you can add snapshots from the user library that Paule created, then it will load from the dropdown. Why it doesn't come with snapshots only NI can say but I suspect it's to avoid having 2 sets of identical presets importing into Komplete Kontrol. This is an outcome of poor design decisions rather than a bug, trying to fix things in a piecemeal iterative way rather than tackle problems at source. It goes back to when NI brought out Reaktor Player and then realised because you needed to be able to edit an ensemble and resave it to use snapshots they needed a way for Player owners (who can't resave an ensemble due to the Player limitations) to save out presets so created a new preset format just for that (instead of doing the sensible thing and making snapshots more compatible). So now we have 2 competing preset formats for Reaktor that don't particularly work well with each other, for example if you have the full Reaktor and have saved a custom version of an ensemble then load a preset (not snapshot) it closes the custom version and load a factory one which is crazy. Also there is no way to convert one to the other and if you have both in Komplete Kontrol it will import both and make a mess.

Sounds good... I just figured that it's been like this for this long without any resolution.

 

Oh it has, but there is a fundamental issue here with Reaktor that NI need to address which is around moving towards a more unified architecture for preset/snapshot saving, and I guess it isn’t an easy solution but if we keep flagging it up it won’t get forgotten.

 

Please fix this, NI!!
