thanks i have the module vowel-filter. i cant get any sound out of it; what are the x and y inputs for?

also, is there something similar for formant-shifting (like yamaha pitch fix if you have ever used that software)?

i don't know the yamaha pitch fix (unless it is similat to the SPX 90?) Zobel's Guitar FX in the User Library has my favourite Reaktor Pitch Shifter.

so you have taken the vowel from the xy-fx? just connect an XY module to them (values 0-1). they are Mouth and Size (i think).

by maybe you have the Vowel-Morph instrument on your install CD?

yep i had tried putting controls on the x and y and nothing happens tried ranges -1 - 1 and 0 - 1

by the way the function i was talking about in yamaha is a formant shifter

it makes a voice for instance sound either really deep or really high but keeps the pitch the same. i should have made the distinction between formant shifter and formant filter anyway both would be useful.

yes, you can download the mixtur trautonium made with REAKTOR which is an emulation of the original trautonium.
Formant filters are (simple said) band pass filters with a fixed frequency with which you can simulate human voicing vocals f.i.. Using suboscillators like in a trautonium will produce interesting nasal sounds.

as you know this can mean all sorts of things. put an Audio Voice Combiner in front of it, to use as an effect for a synth that can play more than one note.

but maybe you don't mean that?

nah i want it to have different parameters for every voice. i tried going in and changing all the modules to have a poly in - it works if i am only using 1 or 2 (sort of) voices but then there will be crosses on either the differentiator or the filter input and nothing will happen

yes i recognized the same thing. But you can fix it by copying the content of the instrument into a macro.
