So I've actually been here a few days now, working on a sequenced effects plugin (check the building forum), but as everyone else seems to be doing an introduction... I thought why not.

I'm far more experienced with Max/MSP than I am with Reaktor, but Reaktor is slowly showing me all it's tasty secrets. I have a few random newbie questions, though: I remember that someone has an extension or utility for getting keyboard control of adding macros, but I believe it's only for PC - is there anything like this for Mac? I know that OSX 10.4 lets you add/change key commands for any application, but I have no idea how to do it for contextual menus like Reaktor uses - I mainly want key commands for send/receive modules, as I use them a lot (it's a lot easier for me to follow than tangles of cords).

Secondly, are snapshots capable of being controlled by MIDI? I'd originally been using event tables for my sequencer, but I 'stole' the backend for some from sowari, and they use multiplexes - which is much nicer, but I haven't figured out how to store easily switchable patterns with this configuration.

Thirdly, are there any Reaktor users in Chicago, IL? I find it's always useful to have someone nearishby to bounce ideas off of.

snapshots can be controlled by midi in 2 ways. easiest is to send ControlChange messages, this must be turned on in the instrument properties. second, there is a snapshot module in the aux section, you can hook any midi or OSC or whatever modules to it you like.

sowari, that UL upload is awesome! But I can't even begin to understand how that scene selection/copy paste thing is working. Is there any chance that I could convince you to implement it in the FX sequencer I've been building, once we're done with it?

    perhaps ;-)

a tip.... the bottom 5 macros in the structure are the important ones . the 3 logic macros contain all the faders and buttons used for programming. the >> ic sends are the ones that are communicating with the faders and buttons in Trigger, Shift and Pitch Sequencers.

btw, all the faders/buttons in the Trigger, Shift and Pitch Sequencers have been made invisible. the ones you see in the instrument panel are the ones in the logic macros

have a look at these pictures.

i am going to upload an amended version with a few more descriptions in the macro properties.
