I currently own TDJS 3 and am considering buying Final Scratch 2 to hook it to a A&H Xone62 mixer. My question is, can I use four mono RCA to sterio RCA cables (1 RCA to 2 RCA), to hook the four outputs (2 sterio outputs) on the scratchamp to 4 independant channels on the mixer? I understand this would be 4 mono signals but the extra control is more important to me than sterio sound.

Yes, it's possible. You're going to need a MIDI controller to pull it off properly, but it CAN be done.

    Here's how it works...

Select external mixer. Set your output routing however you want it, mapping the desired output to the MONO out of each deck. Leave FS input routing default.

You have a widget in your top page that gives you assignment control of the timecode, so you can assign it to any of the 4 decks. BUT only 2 decks at any given time can be controlled via vinyl. When you give another deck vinyl control (by clicking the FS "record" symbol at the bottom of a deck), the deck that had control from that timecode record previously will automatically go into "internal" mode. This is where a MIDI controller would be handy, because it would facilitate easier control of decks that aren't being controlled via timecode. I personally can't imagine working without one if I were using this setup.

Also, I don't know how seemless all that control switching is going to be in a real world, several hours long gig. I DID test this and verified that it works, but only tested it for a few minutes. If I were determined to go 4 decks mono and use the scratchamp as my interface, I would probably opt to go 2 decks vinyl control and 2 decks MIDI control and keep them that way. But your mileage may vary.

    Technically, it DOES work.
