is there a way I can use four different turntables to control the four decks in traktor pro? The audio 8DJ comes with connections for two turntables OR 2 CD players. Do I need 2 audio 8DJ? Can traktor scratch pro handle 2 differents audio 8DJ?

    Thanks everybody

Get two phono preamps for the other 2 decks then run them into inputs C and D.

Thanks Telly. Do you know if I can use multicore cables to have the option to run the # 3 and # 4 turntables also straight to the mixer,?

    Multicables..

..cost around 25 euros where I come from and yes you can actually connect up to 8 channels (hence audio 8) with 4 virtual decks being traktor driven and 4 "hardware" decks doing their thing.

This may be a "no ****, sherlock" on my part, but Audio 8 has only four outputs - they are stereo, so 4x2=8. But I don't really see a situation where I would have 4 traktor tracks playing at the same time as 4 actual turntables pumping out sound... for one thing, I'd run out of channels on my mixer if I wanted to have that many sources on the line at once :)

Well the thing is the input and output jacks for channels C and D are on opposite sides of the card. You'd better test it out with your existing multicores first, just to be sure there's enough length to split it like that.

has anyone tested this at home?
i'd like to buy traktor scratch pro but i want to be shure that it works.
i'm spinning on 3 turntables, can i connect all of them to the audio 8 interface including one extra phono preamp?
    thnx

if you use two decks with normal Phono outputs for A & B and two decks which have a switchable LINE out like Stanton or Numark for decks C & D, then you will immediately have a system capable of 4 vinyl timecode decks controlling Traktor.

    1. Yes, the multi cores "split" enough to work with C & D (the in's/outs are on opposite sides of the audio 8, as stated). You can purchase more multi-cores from N.I. of course (I have SIX now, 4 permanently installed at home, 2 for gigs).

    2. 4 decks works great for me, though I'm running with 2 1200's and 2 CDJ's. I can't see any reason why using phono-preamps on the C or D deck would be any different.

    i'm still a little confused..

Yep, 'cause the mk5s don't have line output. And as has been said: To make use of more than 2 turntables via the Audio8 you need additional phono preamps.

or, as I stated, you need a TT which has a switchable phono OR line output (Stanton, Numark etc etc) which you would use on Decks C & D

so just to get this straight...

    on Audio 8, inputs:

    A & B - Phono
    C & D - Line

    what are the outputs?

They are all labelled with numbers:

    1/2
    3/4
    5/6
    7/8

Just use the same numbers for inputs and outputs, and setup the audio preferences accordingly. I suppose you could mismatch them, but that would be very confusing :)
