Please keep this thread on topic and use the other forum threads to discuss the discontinuation of Kore. If you would like to add your name to this request to NI, please just add your name, or +1 it. Thank you.
    ---------------------------

NI, it would GO ALONG WAY to subsiding the hurt and pain your loyal customers and Kore users are feeling about the recent news of Kore being discontinued.

Please consider giving away for free to all registered Kore users, all of the Kore Sound packs that are no longer for sale. I can see no harm in doing this. Even if they are being ported over to Maschine somehow.

Even if it may cost NI something, or lose them a future sale, you would show that you really do care about the users who are loyal to you.

Being a Kore Soundpack owner myself, I would not be offended if others were to recieve it, and all the others for free.

So I hereby add my name to this request in hopes that it somehow will become reality.

    Signed,

    A1MixMan

They won't be able to give soundpacks created with third parties away, but NI soundpacks shouldn't be a problem. FREE NI-created soundpacks and discounted third party soundpacks (Deep Freq for instance) at a discount so the third party creators don't suffer losses out of their control...

I don't know about free, because I wouldn't want the 3rd party developers to take another hit, but I would appreciate the opportunity to pick up a few Kore Soundpacks at a discount price in line was previous limited time offers.

I'd surely download any free offering, but it's not going to impact my feelings about the way Kore was managed.

I don't want any Kore Soundpacks and never used the ones I do have.

I use Kore as my host and put my own plugs in it. Built my patches and sets from scratch. I use it every week without fail. It is my HUB for all my computer sounds.

I will keep using it as long as it works and look forward to the 64-bit update. Still, I'm at a loss for words on it's eventual demise. Very sad....

I would certainly like the sound packs to be available again to registered Kore owners. I don't think there is a specific need for them to be free

At first, I'd like to get an Open Dialog with someone responsible for NI, NIs Maschine roadmap, NIs customer relations.

Its unacceptable to have only one or two mods posting one or two relevant postings a day.

I am a paying customer, and I paid for support, too.
No need to get anything for free.

If in the future NI repackage Kore soundpacks for Kontakt, I would like to get those I already own for free. I expected them to do this with Akoustik Piano, but it never happened unfortunately.

I'm happy to pay for them - NI have stopped selling Kore so I can't see why they cannot continue to sell the soundpacks. They will only be of use to existing Kore owners.

There definitely should have been some sort of grace period before closing the whole store. As long as people are buying in the full knowledge of what is happening with Kore then it is their choice but taking away that choice was not the best way to do it imho, particularly for people who have only recently bought Kore and are now left with no ability to purchase addons. Doesn't even have to be completely free, free is nice but variations on the idea of a firesale or some scheme using vouchers towards soundpacks to compensate loyal users and new users alike would also go some way to mitigating some of people's loss here. I think the argument such a thing may upset a few people who paid the full amount is likely to be offset by the fact that unless they have all of them they too will benefit.

There must be some sort of solution for the user base, so I second the request for free sound packs, or at least at significantly reduced prices.

I would have thought a clever move to be to offer all Kore HW users a special deal, such as:

The full Kore Pack deal, regardless what you purchased, if you own the Kore 2 HW you can get all existing Kore Packs for Euro 99 as a download, this price includes a full upgrade to the coming 64 bit Version, sold separately for Euro 49. Unselect packs that you do own already.

It would be a win-win, and leave existing Kore 2 users with a better feeling I guess.

    In addition....

Make it a good thing, really.... donate all proceedings to friends of the earth.

I agree that some kind of gesture to Kore loyalists (and I don't count the discount on Maschine, personally, sorry) would go some way towards mitigating the very hard feelings about this. If you've simply killed the content, making some of it available to us to make up for this significant blow to our investment (money, time, learning curve & expertise, community) would seem like some kind of good faith gesture. I'll still be disappointed and more than a little mystified that there wasn't a better course of action than just abandoning ship, but hey - it's not my company.

To be honest I think it's more than a gesture. The fact is even though we had a little warning (albiet ambiguous) about the demise of Kore, the speed at which the shop was pulled took everyone by complete surprise. I certainly know that it's not just me that would have hastily grabbed a few soundpacks I had my eye on if I'd had even a few day's warning that was going to happen.

Furthermore there was a considerable group of people holding back from getting into Kore until it was certain it was coming out in 64 bit - the Catch 22 is that the day it was announced that this was definitely happening was the day the shop closed.

Also there appear to be a good number of people who bought Kore in the last few months who had not even had a chance to buy any soundpacks. I think simple practical good sense and fairness applies here.

I couldn't agree more. But sadly it's not really up to me.

Having availability of the Soundpacks makes a whole lot of sense, regardless whether Kore is discontinued or not.

Offering the whole NI package for a discounted price to registered users would be a nice gesture.
