Thanks for sharing, that's good stuff. I totally overlooked that thread (but then again; this forum is a little more difficult to navigate than most others).

Most of it I already got thanks to me being able to pick up on Komplete Elements 7 (which is IMO the better of the 2 'Elements' versions available) which also included 'Best of Absynth' and 'Best of Massive'. But all the extra sounds are very cool indeed!

    There goes the weekend ;-)

Last week I learned that me owning Elements 7 actually entitled me to a Guitar Rig 5 Pro upgrade. And with 50% off on all upgrades / updates (at the time of writing obviously) how can anyone resist? :)

they seem to be gradually integrating some of the products into komplete (absinth twilights, spectral expansion, massive threat, massive expansion 1 & 2 and also some urban arsenal 1 & 2 massive sounds but I'm not sure if they were in the original urban arsenals as i haven't checked them out for a while)

i doubt we will ever see the deep series released on another platform as they heavily utilised the kore effects i believe.

it would be nice to see some of the sample based packs made available in a kontakt. i know there would be no morphing but some of the sounds from kore sound packs are first class. not heard north india but true strike tension, sonic fiction and paranormal spectrums are all first class imo.

Not gradually, they put them in the Komplete 7 versions of Absynth, FM8 and Massive for free in September '11. It was no big deal for them, just import some patches they already made enough money with.

They also showcase one dimensional morphing in Kontakt 5 in Retro Machines MkII. Not as cool as Kore's two dimensional morphing but it's something. True Strike Tension comes with nki's for Kontakt in the sample folder. Sonic Fiction, Paranormal Spectrums and Acoustic Refractions can't be redone, they combine Kontakt with Absynth, GR, Massive and FM8. And not enough people would buy North India & Sax/Brass MKII because most of these samples are already in Kontakt 5. They should have put all North India/Sax&Brass functions in the Factory Library sounds.

thats a bonus, do you have to copy them into kontakts folder or does kontakt find them there ?

im not near my DAW machine now so not sure if they are there or not (only just installed komplete)

I think that the Deep series packages differ which engines they use between them but I think that they utilise Reaktor, Guitar Rig, Absynth and Kore's 'native' effects.

This would make it hard to port over but I am sure I read somewhere that one of the sound designers (if not THE sound designer) behind the Deep series was looking to release something like it again since Kore's discontinuation.

Boy, I know I sure can't wait to buy old sounds in a new format that my perfectly good Kore 2 controller can't understand, and then maybe I'll buy the Maschine controller so I can play all of these cool new old sounds that I have bought twice.

Yep, I can't wait for that. Where's Komplete 9 at!

As much as I respect NI (no fun stuff here), this page is blog material. Might even come to that too.

Still.. not to "justify" stuff BUT.. for some bad stuff some good stuff seems to happen. In this case not good for you (nor NI I suppose (?)) BUT good for me.

You guys complain about buying stuff twice. No comments; I can't (not owning Komplete).

Within the context you layed out here one has to wonder...

I picked up on Komplete Elements 7 because I knew it was a die-hard deal from the start. How can one resist a package including "Best of Absynth" and "Best of Massive'?

Yet that very same package gave me the option to upgrade to Guitar Rig 5 PRO at a very reasonable price.

Sometimes there is another side to every story. Oh; don't get me wrong. I agree if you now claim its all in the best interest of the company. But isn't this how it always goes?

More critical (I am no fanboy; you can only accuse me of that within the context or Ableton Live or Reason): are you sure you didn't know this before picking up the upgrade?

I don't own Komplete and most likely (not sure) never will. I got Elements 7 which I think kicks some serious ass (also got extras such as the Mouth, Finger and stuff such as Rammfire).

Still; even I had doubts about the upgrade path from 7 to 8. Without owning it. Don't tell me you guys bought into that by sheer faith?

Those days seem to be over. A long time ago even....

I think a1mixman is referring to buying repacked sounds and effects from the korepacks you already have, not buying an upgrade to Komplete 8 that has everything Komplete 7 has (except for Acoustic R).

For example, it is possible that NI builds 1 Reaktor and 1 GR module that together with all other Reaktor and GR modules does exactly what the Deep FX series do, including morphing. Or that NI sells a North India or Sax&Brass version for Kontakt Player that can do what the Korepacks could like what they did with Retro Machines. It is what many Kore fans are hoping for. But then you buy the same thing.

For your blog: NI keeps selling the same samples over and over again. Most Kompakt, Battery and Kontakt Experience samples went into Kontakt 3 and Kore 2, the Kontakt 3 Sax&Brass samples went into a korepack, the Kontakt 3 Jazz Upright went into Essential Bass, the Scarbee bass in Essential Bass went into J-Bass, most samples from the North India korepack went to Kontakt 4, Elektrik Piano went to Kontakt 4. A selection of the Synthetic Drums went in a Korepack, a selection of Maschine Drums went into a Kontakt pack, many Urban Arsenal sounds are in Maschine, most Retro Machines samples in the korepack were already in Kontakt, and I guess all of them went into Retro Machines MKII. Classical Piano's are the same as Akoustik Piano. And usually you don't get a discount so you're paying the full price. After all, you don't "own" the samples.

Upgrading to a newer Komplete is just a cheap way to get a few products extra, no one complains about that. Maybe about which ones or how "few" or how expensive.

ShelLuser - I might be a little slow on the uptake here but I can see little-to-no point to your post in the context of this thread?

When Reason 6 came out, did you assure everyone that by you getting Ableton Live that no one should complain about the new features?

DJWaxxy - I can't speak for Kontakt 5 (I have Kontakt 4) but the Kore pack of 'True Strike' comes with Kontakt Nki files (in the samples folder).

so does true strike install seperately and does it need authorising or is it already authorised?

True Strike Tension is a sound pack for Kore. Both Kore and it's sound packs are discontinued. NI won't provide a way for customers with Kore and money to buy products that they keep on their servers.
So TST is a separate product - though, I can't see any reason as to why someone couldn't copy the samples directory and load them into Kontakt (though you, obviously, sacrifice morphing).

I'd be interested to know NI's stance on this exactly. NI won't sell you these packs via legit means and some of them don't appear in other products (True Strike) - if there were third-party license issues then NI SHOULD provide links so WE can buy from the license-holders.
I'm not offering to distribute the samples from any of my products but where does the law lie exactly (NI not selling, not made otherwise available, no replacement).
    ---
Sorry, to answer you directly, it needs authorising to install TST.

True Strike Tension had a selection of instruments from "True Strike" from my fellow countrymen ProjectSAM. http://www.projectsam.com/Products/Feature-Products/1348
If you didn't buy TST when it was available you can't get it for Kontakt either. True Strike 1 is €300/$420 and SOS gave it 5 stars. I would much rather have that then Damage or something.

It would be cool if they would reissue the sound pack free but a blessing it came free. Come on NI make it happen baby.

it would be very nice, if they give them all korepacks as a gift, or offer a last sell
