Please make a Komplete Kore with all the sound packs! We will all buy it! I have spent so FN much $$$ with NI they should give me a pack for free considering I have NO way to buy it any longer! If anyone wants to sell Sonic Fiction please get a hold of me! onesimusdnb at yahoo dot com

NI were pretty generous with free and discounted sound packs to Kore owners at the time of the announcement. It was also made very clear at that time, that sound packs would then not be available for sale, and in fact, a lot of the packs made it into the original instrument patch lists as freebies to everyone.

Yeah, but you can't buy Jeremiah Savages masterpieces AR & SF any more. Onesimusdnb, sorry to bring bad news to you: downloadable NI products cannot be transferred to another user so you're out of luck.

I've sold registered versions of '57 Drawbar Organ, The Finger, Spark, Massive Threat, etc. with full support from NI. Didn't even have to send the new customer installers.

I've done the same with Kontakt libraries too... I think NI used to give people static for it, but it doesn't seem to be a problem anymore.

Sonic Fiction isn't one that I'm willing to part with though - sorry Onesimusdnb. It's just that everything Jeremiah Savage does is amazing! However, don't give up hope - unless something has changed since November or so last year, you should be able to buy it from someone.

I was flat broke when the Kore closing shop sale was underway, there were several packs I wanted but couldn't buy. Now that I'm employed at a better paying job it would be nice to have an opportunity to buy those packs. I wouldn't necessarily need them for free as I understand there were 3rd parties contributing labor into those products and they have expectations of being paid for each copy sold.

If you do a WTB (Want to Buy) at KVR Audio forum, naming the specific packs, some Korers may be willing to part with certain packs.

The Serpent for Massive is available now as a Kore soundpack - the last one possibly.

I managed to get the North India pack via KVR - I do believe that NI may not honour the license on 'used' Kore soundpacks so do exercise caution.

I may be wrong but I think that some of the Heavyocity packs may have some Kore compatibility.

I'm still a little miffed at the total termination of soundpack termination - especially those Massive and Absynth packs which are now bundled into their respective hosts - obviously, minus the morphing.

You can still spot the odd New-old Electronic Experience package on well known auction sites - worth the money if you're lacking any of the included packs IMO

On the matter of third-party licensing; I'm surprised that those third parties no longer off those respective packs.
I'm lucky that I managed to get the packs I was seeking before the total closure (plus a fellow forum user here alerted me to a KVR member selling North India).

Is there anything from NI preventing the likes of Jeremiah Savage selling his Kore packs outside of NI's online shop?

For the record, Acoustic Refractions is included with Komplete 7, should you happen to find anyone selling their setup...

If nothing else, until I see the Deep series available outside of the Kore platform, Kore is worth its salt for that alone.

You'd think in this day of cheap, quad-core, computing that Kore would be coming into its own. The only thing I've ever felt Kore was guilty of was being ahead of its time!

One of the attractive things about korepacks was their compatibility with a free player and that they work in Kore on its own, without full versions of Absynth5, FM8, GR4, K4 and Massive. People can still sell kore libraries for the full version of Kore and full versions of the engines but "korepacks" could only be made by NI.

Ok - but does that mean Jerimiah couldn't repackage Sonic Fiction as something else and sell it?

I've not had too much joy in finding anyone selling/offering Kore packs, non-NI, outside of the late offerings on the NI shop.

For the record, I own SF already but I sympathise with the folk lusting after products that will be difficult to obtain.

Just realised the epic stupidity of my previous question...

I guess that's the problem, the ability to load in the free version meant a wide market, but trying to sell to a shrinking pool of hardcore Kore users is probably not economically viable, except as a free addon (as in the case of The Serpent bank for Massive).

Last year (almost exactly) I transferred some packs and they handled it like any other NI transfer. Even provided installers.

Anyone else think this thread ought to get wrapped up now?
I don't know, just seems that there's little gained in this thread anymore except a newcomer saying "yeah, I want free stuff cuz Kore rulez" then a select few (myself included) grumble/suggest.

I wonder if we all need to fly to Germany and carry some "Bring Back Kore!" protest signs outside NI headquarters.

    I'd be in.

Wonder why NI doesn't do it themselves, guess they aren't interested, and won't be, no matter what.
