Any users who haven't already checked it out, make sure to check out the Kontakt user site at http://kontakt.daw-mac.com where you can find some Kontakt patches available for free download.

Anyone interested in sampling their own instruments? It would be great to be able to expand the library! See the thread "How To Make A Good Sampled Instrument" which has some useful tips for sampling instruments.

I'll contribute some JX8P and JUNO-106 patches/samples of mine as soon as I'm satisfied with the samples and have built some nice patches.

All files on the kontakt.daw-mac.com site are for both Mac and PC.

They are all compressed in StuffIt format. Most Mac users will already have the free StuffIt Expander on their computers. Some PC users may have to download the PC version from www.aladdinsys.com (it's a free download) but once the files are unstuffed, they'll work with either the Mac or PC version of Kontakt.

    Hi,

Thanks for the samples, the strings in particular are very nice. Just a note for PC users, some of the .nki/.nkm file extensions are missing, so you'll have to add them yourselves for Kontakt to see them.

I have a few instruments I may upload at some point. They are mostly specifically designed to create a specific sound in a given song, so I'm not sure how useful they'd be, however.

    ...

i"mpretty sure winzip can open stuffit archives as well (as much as stuffit
    expander can open winzip files).

    Hi ddas,

I downloaded one of your instruments and installed Stuffit, but I get an error message when tyring to expand the stuffit archive; I can't get it to work. Do I need a specific version of Stuffit? I downloaded the latest version from Aladdin.

    Thanks

Very strange. Try downloading the samples again. I haven't had any other users complain. The latest version of StuffIt Expander should take care of any .sit archive.

Note that some samples on the site require Kontakt 1.2 and won't work in 1.1.
