I've made three sounds available for free download. They are:
    1. A mellotron
    2. A Sprite bottle
    3. A keyboard sound I call Metal Rhodes
    They are located at www.strongsongs.us
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click - the download should begin.
They are in Kontakt format only, however the .wav files are there if you want to place in other formats.

    enjoy,

What's the deal with the .sit files?

sit is Stuffit, which means, the files are compressed with Stuffit. If you're going to exchange files with other musicians, you'll probably have to learn to live with Stuffit (it's quasi standard on Macintosh). :p

The Expander is available for Mac 9, X, Solaris, Linux... forgot anything?; Well, for Windows, too :p

You can download Stufffit Expander for free at www.stuffit.com.

    HTH.

thanks for the sounds. i loaded them up last night and noticed that there's a weird, kind of ugly pop in the sprite one. is it just me? maybe that's a facet of the sound, but it definitely sounded a little strange to me.

There shouldn't be any popping noise in the Sprite sound. In fact, it's the smallest of the three in terms of memory requirements so there shouldn't be DFD popping for sure. Try turning the volume down a bit, perhaps it's just loud enough to peg the meter.
The .sit at the end of the files just means that they are stuffed with Stuffit as mentioned above. The reason for this is A) to make the files download quicker since it drastically reduces the size, and B) help the files transfer from one platform to another (Mac/PC). For some reason, stuffed files transfer better across platforms.
