I am sure I ead it somewhere before, but i would like an option to change the FX routing (button) to an FX send (pot).

When using FX, you first have to visually check wich decks are routed,
arm the deck you want to give the FX and then use the FX dry/return.

I would find it much better to use the FX routing as a send.
That way, you could directly send the deck to the fx, adjust the amout.

Especially when two decks are using the same FX. But also it should function as a true "send" not the current combined function of "return" (which unelegantly removes tails from delays and reverbs).

I connected a knob to the volume of my fx and to the on off button of the effects on the mixer.

With this i can just turn the knob, and use the effect.

So I think: what you want can be done already.

tell me if i don't understand you

True, but this wont work with multiple sends at the same time.

When you put deck A down, it will mute also for decks B, C and D.

Besides, with FX like Reverb, Delay and so on, you could set the maximum dry/wet to your liking,

and you will never distort by putting the send of a deck to 100%.

Last but not least, you could give one deck 50% reverb, and the other 75%.
